The air spring is very robust with a .55" rod and a 1.1" body. Similar to struts used on vehicle lift gates but on steroids. The attachment points are .25" thick. The tree branches won't stand a chance.

The one in the pictures with front slider glass, interior lighting, power ports, full carpet kit and roof bars came in at 363 lbs. Side windoors and a rear window are about 20 lbs each. A maxed out unit might weigh in about 400 lbs total.

Yes you would be able to pass through the door over the cab. The bug mesh on that end unzips Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

You have interpreted the pictures well. There are 3 cross planks that retain the fabric and poles in place when closed. When open they can be used to increase the size of the platform over the cab. The supports are tied to the center roof bar and that must remain in place, the other two bars may...

The truck in the article has a 2" lift on 285/75R16 tires. This gave 81" of clearance underneath the deployed cantilever bed platform.

Help- FWC-style Lift Panel rebuild, is 1/4" ply too thick?

The material used in current FWC campers is 1/4" thick so I think you'll be okay.

    Trailer Stuff at SEMA 2015

I stopped to look at the Smittybilt trailer and moved on after I spotted two separate FMVSS violations. It's an "ok" trailer for the price sensitive who are not going to put it to a lot of hard use IMO. The short leaf springs will yield a bouncy ride and I do not think the bolted on yoke is...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

I am curious if the part # is correct. I checked on the Roadmaster website and this part number is listed for "2004-2007" Rubicon. The TJ platform ran from 1997-2006 JK platform did not start until 2007 and a search request for my 2012 states none available. I don't believe the rear sway bar for...

New Adventure Trailer Chaser Owner's Experiences

I agree with Titan that a rifle case would be the best off the shelf solution. 2 of them would likely fit under your rack supported by brakets similar to how Equipt mounts a table under a K9 roof rack.
