Thinking about bags vs coils again.... Frustrated by this stupid thing. Worried I am stressing the frame a lot rather than the suspension moving enough.
I was just looking at the bag data again, It shows 5.4" tall at bump stop contact if I am reading correct. If I am only running the bags at 8"...
Fantastic weekend playing in the snow.
Headed up, just starting to snow
Getting better
Parked! Right at the top of the ridge.
It started dumping!
Pretty spot.
A couple wheelers went by in the morning
Forecast was calling for up to another 12", we decided to bail out to a bit lower...
Been wanting an outdoor temp gauge for awhile. Ford had one in the rear view in some pickup models, but it appeared from my google research that it was not a standard part included in the wire harness/build in the 450's. I also dont have a rear view any longer.
Finally got the Blue Sea one...
Buckstop makes nice things, but I would reconsider the Mpt81's....
@HowardH might give some input. He has buckstop stuff on his f450

What do you have for axle weights?
Personally if run a 20"LT tire. You can get them rated at 4080lbs now.
Otherwise the g275msa is an option if you want the 42" size.

Agreed.
I was looking at it, and a piece of flat stock between the hinges should take all the load off the plastic.
Looks like maxxfan is going to send me a new part though!

Forgot about the motorcycle, but yes a tire or a box are in the way... I climb my door hinges and spare to get to the roof when needed, so maybe I just have a different view on things! :D
Another fun weekend!
Some hiking, some climbing.
Old counterweight house for a removed chairlift. Wont be standing much longer.
Sign was tucked in the bushes, chair was last in service in 1994 it appears.
Maxxfan started making all kinds of floppy noises on the freeway..... Ugh.
And a...
Yes, I went from DRW to SRW. Still running a 19.5 tire, which I am not completely sold on, but its better in the snow for sure.
Long build thread....

I dont understand the shape, so much wasted space in the upper corners. Yes keeps it a little smaller, but its already that wide down lower.
I see one around the PNW a fair bit. Im curious how bad they sweat inside in the winter with all the exposed alu in there.
I run a F450 ski rig. Been DRW and SRW now.
DRW: it will wander in the snow, no two ways around it. Its not the end of the world if you know its coming, just feels a little funny. Snow will pack between them, but it never really caused me any issues. I always just chained up the outer dual, but...
IMO Dont run the MPT81's
That being said, the MRAP wheels will work, but you will either be very wide or very narrow, the offsets just are not quite right.
I think the 1st Attack are a good wheel, I just wish someone would make a narrower one. And you have to remember they are still a flat...
Front still sucks. Haven't had time for ping tanks yet.
But we got the first snow of the season! (which apparently does not show up in night pics :D )
Nearly no one around, nice morning hike.
Remember the random stereo static I get? Welllll the electrical gremlins are coming out..... My...
