    1988 toyota pickup- HELP!

I'm at my wits end. I tried the starter trick and it didn't break loose. I put it in 4 hi 5th gear and chocked the wheels. Bought a good breakover with an impact socket and used a 2 foot cheater. Still won't come apart. I'm afraid to heat it but don't want to destroy the balancer. Any more ideas?

Duhhhhhhh! I guess it would be if the cranking action of the motor would loosen it. I get brain farts working after midnight. Thanks again!

    1988 toyota pickup- HELP!

I have a 1988 4wd pickup with a 1984 22r carb engine in it. I need to install a timing chain, but can't remove the crankshaft bolt that holds the pulley and balancer on. Is this bolt a reverse thread? My manual doesn't say. I don't have an impact wrench, and I just broke my 1/2" breakover...

18 inch rims and bigger tires / or MT tires

Look at FourByLand's build thread. He ran 18's on stock wheels for quite a while and there was some discussion about it in the thread. He also painted the wheels and they looked goooooood! There are pics too.

Hey Chazz! I used your idea for the radio mounting location. It worked great. I've been trying to locate a "dash box" similar to yours but have had no luck Instead of bolting thru the dash, I flipped the mounting bracket and used the super adhesive velcro type ribbon sold at Radio Shack to...

    Duke: A Disco I Build

It is an extraordinary truck It's extraordinary to him. What makes it that way is he worked, saved his money, and built it himself for the purpose he intended. Clean build too. Not pimped up like so many young'uns do today. Wow, What a shot at some very nice people (Losers?). I'm 52 years...

    D2 antenna mount locations

Wow! That's exactly what I ended up doing. Exactly the same location and bracket. I havent tried it out yet. My son broke my SWR meter and I've got to track down another. I like to check it before transmitting. Glad to hear the location works well.

    D2 antenna mount locations

Sorry about that. Thanks for the correction. I was tapping on it and it sounded different than the sides and assumed it was 'glass. I guess that's What I get for assuming.

    D2 antenna mount locations

The only problem with that is the roof is fiberglass and there is no ground plane. I really hate drilling holes in the roof and having it in the way of mounting a rack in the future.

    D2 antenna mount locations

Last night I started mounting my Yaesu 2m rig in my " new" D2. I had planned to use an NMO lip mount on the rear edge of the bonnet (did I just say bonnet?). This won't work due to the way it seals to the cowl area. I then considered using an "L" bracket on the top edge of the wing (did I...
