Also got some oreilly precision new CV's for $70 bucks each. I never noticed how much more beef there is on the 2500 CV's... once I held the box it felt about 2x heavier than I expected. Much stronger, probably lose some mpg though with the rotational mass lol. Also looks like the CV's will...

Had to run out and check... You made me nervous lol! Felt like it went too easy.. It sits below the front bracket, but above the rear one. The rough country kit on the 8.25 does the same. There's a skid plate from the lift kit which I'll remake the mount for that will cover it just like before...

Well got it in today afterwork... Went a lot easier than expected, a little more grinding than I would have wanted on the diff in the normal place the lifts require you to grind, but it's in. Rear and side mounts all lined up. Just need to weld a new hanger bracket and skid plate mount. Next is...

Going to try! Worst comes to worst I'll just take out the front drive shaft. Not sure if I'll need 4WD for those Oakland/ Emervyille roads.....

I got it lined up yesterday. Seems to be way more than possible with only welding the front mount lower on the front drop down bracket in terms of welding. I would assume its a pain on a non-lifted truck (or almost impossible). It looks to be definitely possible with my lift because with the...

Thought some of you all may like these... The one part of the rough country kit (and stock) I did not like was the sway bar links. Way too thin, and I have always wanted to have quick disconnects for the rear. ALSO as can be seen in the pictures, my rough country shocks were getting tired in...

    Best DIY bedliner?

Yep, I monstalined my truck and love it. Make sure you get more than you need (I didn't and didn't have enough for a second coat. Also, buy EXTRA,EXTRA rollers As you roll, the paint thickens and rips the foam apart. You'll want to have new foam on hand to switch out

"Service 4wd" message came on briefly - something to worry about?

EDIT- Doh, misread. I was talking about the forward Auto 4wd encoder. which is easier. This one I have not changed.. Looking into it, it doesn't seem too involved, but looks to be a tad harder than the front actuator...

Agreed with kojack. When I regeared my front diff I had to take out the motor. Took maybe 20 seconds? You can handle it haha

2003 Chevy Suburban 2500 LT build

Rayra- Hate to say it but those angles looks pretty bad (I think you may be closer to 3" over stock than 2") On a bunch of the other fullsize forums, there loads of people with failures with that much angle... Now, with the smaller tires and driving style you may never have any trouble- but...

A slightly silly exercise on a GMT800 Suburban, in the name of 'departure angle'

My theory on this is that you NEED to have something you can scrape on back there. The departure angle seems to be the limiting angle on these trucks (even on my truck with my huge winch overhang on the front). As such, it is better to scrape on a, thick, piece of metal rather than the weak...

What's on the rear axle? (GMC Sierra)

I know a few people with the Quadrasteer setup and all three of them say they will never get a new truck ever again until they offer it again. These are the high budget chevy only types that bought a new truck/ tow rig the day the old warranty ran out like clock work. I know it didn't sell...

    GMT-800 5.3 alternator recommendations?

I ended up with two alternators:) However, ya i just went with one Autozone and one O'Reilly 145 alternator. figured, wherever I am in the country, I can get a roadside lifetime replacement. lol. The big dollar ones are not worth it IMO.

All of them are a cheapy clamp that either came from the go pro or a $10 gopro mounting kit from Amazon. Works pretty well other than we had some problems with the Wifi phone/ remote control on my friends brand new Hero4(or whatever number they are up to now) My Gopro Hero 2's worked...

Thanks Atomic! Very happy with the suspension. The shift points are definitely an improvement, cruise control still has a tendency to downshift hard when going up mild grades, but all the rest is definitely a major improvement in lazy throttle driving!

Well finally had time to stitch some videos together. Kind of just picked randomly and put them in, figured everywhere was equally as interesting. All that time rendering and I messed up the audio.... Seems when I slowed the video down in the beginning it ruined the audio. Not sure why... I...

Hey Vortec Guys! / Sierra pickup / Suburban / Yukon etc - Finally has Index!

Thanks for the offer Rayra! I actually got an arm mount I am really liking, I'll post some pictures in my thread. I Like your design, but the arm mount lets my passenger reach the tablet, even though it is kind of in the way....

Hey Vortec Guys! / Sierra pickup / Suburban / Yukon etc - Finally has Index!

VERY cool I did not know this stuff existed. I have the Transmission cooler Rayra was talking about, and I love it. On my last trip, wheeling at slow speed, with high throttle input, in 83 degree weather It keeps the truck under 190. I have the cold weather thermostat (some people said it...
