    The Ute II: E350 RB 7.3 ZF6

Thanks. It's all good though! I don't know why more people don't use it, Lego's rule.

Hey Jungblud, no problem. Have you heard of jongbloed wheels? (http://jongbloedracing.com/wordpress/) Good stuff. I've left a ton of detail out of my build because 1) I'm lazy, and 2) it's a black hole of documentation if done completely... The panels/mounting/fastening methods vary based on...

    The Ute II: E350 RB 7.3 ZF6

I finally got the Espar running. The noise level is better than I expected. The best dB reference I can think of is a "Mr. Heater" (not buddy) when it is firing up. It's possible to miss that it is running in normal/idle mode. Note that this is with an open atmosphere mounting, with the...

    Seat Install

Wood doesn't make the best "washer". From an engineering standpoint it would be best to eliminate the seat-wood-van steel interaction. That said, you would probably be fine with the distributed load across the seat base assuming it is fastened well, kept dry, and checked for tightness...

My quest to get a van. Looking for advice and wisdom.

Is daily suitability your decision gateway? If so, daily driver decisions are best based on your daily driving requirements. Looks like you're in Nevada so perhaps tight spaces and city parking are not a concern? Those are the biggest drawbacks for a van. The size and maneuverability...

    Pop-tops: are they worth it?

Another factor I haven't seen mentioned is CG. A fixed high top is at a disadvantage if you anticipate any side-hill action.

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Haha, yeah the "Laguna Pipe"... The 92dB limit blows. The car idles at 90 so had to do something drastic.

Haha! That is hilarious. Sig worthy! I used a handheld router with the edge bit. It produced a nice line on the formica, but didn't really clean the leftover cement off the substrate. Thoughts?

    The Ute II: E350 RB 7.3 ZF6

Finally seeing some light at the end of the plumbing wiring and compartment tunnel. Contorting around to get all the fasteners right sucks! I need more formica... Then all that's left will be the cookware drawer under the sink and the switch/breaker panel.

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

This might help for leak detection: "Go to the hardware store and get a 4" fenco fitting, and a rubber tire valve. Cut a small slit in the center of the fitting push the valve through and cement it in. Clamp it over the turbo intake and pressurize to 15psi. Spray soapy water on intercooler...

Belafonte Reboot....Ambulance to 4x4 Camper Conversion

Regarding boost and thus EGT's- Note that the engine in NA trim ran under vacuum (not sure how much in-hg on an idi?) so the difference in intake pressure is more than 2 psi.
