VHB or another bonding agent in general. Size the feet/pads/attachment brackets etc. appropriately to support/distribute your intended load and bond it directly to the roof.
A reference point-
I bought a 96 PSD with ~60K miles (a sweet spot for my likes). The van was from Texas and I have had to replace the following for age related reasons (mostly seals):
Fuel Pump
Water Pump
Turbo Boots
Tank Filler and Vent Hoses
Headlights
Coolant Hoses

I used to have a smaller black abs tank and did the bonded fittings mentioned above. The only problem with that tank was that the glue smell never went away. It made it so...

I'm digging into plumbing a pre-heater and can't seem to locate a heater control valve on the van. Upon further research it looks like our vans may use a "blend air door" to bring in cool air in lieu of an actual bypass flow valve. This suggests that hot water is constantly circulating...

Figuring out the plumbing on a "utilities box" is fun. Fuel in/out, coolant in/out, air in/out, and wiring in/out. Good times!

In other news I finally replaced the weeping water pump with an Airtex AW4114 (OEM manufacturer, but cheaper). Also replaced the main hoses, pulleys, 206deg Thermostat, and added a coolant filter for good measure. The filter kit goes for 120$ here...
