Hey - that is my truck's twin brother! I have never seen another red SWB '05. Note that it has a plow mount up front. I bet that it has seen some east coast salt so take a close look for rust. If it's rust free and anything like my truck - it's a good truck. You might be able to cut the...
Allan and Jon - not this year for us. Our daughter is getting married in June and we are in full on wedding prep mode. Hopefully we will see you all next year.
May the ground below your tires stay solid this year!
******** and Robin
I was there with my Fuso last year and we will be there again this year. The Earthcruiser Flatbed was there as well so there was at least three that I know of. Hopefully it won't be quite so hot this year!

I can't even imagine doin 86 mph in an FG. I am perfectly comfortable at the 70ish top speed in my '05 with taller tires but any head wind or incline and I am grabbing a gear (or worse if it gets steep - 2 gears!). The real issue is that if you have to hit the brakes hard at high speed you are...
It must be the summer for overheating issues. My gauge has been climbing to the point of being pegged to the top while climbing long grades. It would also change if you turned anything on or off...AC or fan, etc. Checked everything mentioned in this thread and others and finally found that...
Not sure this is exactly the answer that you need but I measure 7" from top of tire to underside of the tray on my 2005 FG with ATW springs and wheels/toyo tires. The bumpstop is progressive so it basically sits on the stop and compresses as the axle moves. The 7" dimension matches the...
Michelle - glad someone took a picture of our rig because we forgot to.
We were there. Note the chairs in a little patch of shade under the awning. It was HOT! The truck didn't like the heat so much but we made it up and back. It was nice to see a few Fusos there this year. Last year we...
He was parked next to me but I am terrible with names. I don't believe he is on expedition portal. As I recall they were from San Diego area and he uses the truck as a work truck.
Czechsix - is that you standing there in the photo? Do you remember his name?

Grease them up with axle grease and see how they do. I could get ZERO traction with MaxTrax in the mud at EXPO. The only good they did was to keep me from digging in any deeper. Not sure these would have helped either. Might help in sand or rocks but mud...not so much.

Portland Mitsubishi Fuso in North Portland has helped me a bunch with my truck. I think they like working on something other than the usual commercial customers rigs so they take very good care of my rig.

Allan - add one more to the list.
56. Clean mud out of places that you didn't know you had!
It took me 4 hours with my pressure washer this weekend and I am sure I will find more mud! Good luck finding all the mud and getting it cleaned up.

Ditto...rear facing exhaust plugged with mud when I backed up "with feeling" to get some momentum to get out of a mud pit. It didn't kill the engine but hissed like crazy until I pulled forward and it blew the plug out. Reroute high and to the side of the truck. Probably go to 3" pipe as...
Best Interior Award
My wife gave the PHX the "best interior award" of all the rigs we visited (and left our footprints in). She felt that it had the most useable storage. Note that the camper box is 15' long so it should have the most storage.
About the brown badge of courage award. I...
I'm signed up for the off-road course. I did it two years ago and it was a lot of fun. 9 Fusos on the course will be a spectacle! It won't be fast given the traffic jamb but it will be fun.:smiley_drive:

I used oak as well. I used linseed oil and soaked it several times then painted it. It is screwed to the subframe and the screw heads are countersunk quite a bit so no chance of the heads damaging the truck frame. My subframe is spring attached to the truck frame so the screws keep the oak...
