    badm0t0rfinger's 2014 Raptor build

I left on the 29th. I took the long way around from Virginia through Outer Banks before cutting west towards Raleigh and then southwest towards Atlanta. I also spent a few hours in Uwharrie National Forest and what a lovely place; I wish I had spent more time that way before leaving. I have a...

    badm0t0rfinger's 2014 Raptor build

Thanks dude! The Raptor does not have a power steering cooler stock and thats a real weak point in my opinion. I'm not in a position where its a must but I'd rather over build and over protect on something like that before I go to 37s. I mean I'm already running beadlocks and those are stupid...

New member looking for vehicle advice.

I've owned a WK Diesel. Not all that cracked up its made out to be. And I wanted to love it so much. I really wanted to, ended up selling it after 4 months of ownership.

    badm0t0rfinger's 2014 Raptor build

On the first post of my thread I stated that I received it late February, but Facebook is claiming that today is 5 years since I received it on island.

    Los Angeles -Class Attack Sub(urban), Build / Collected Werks topic - '02 k1500 Z71

Gotcha, just curious, you probably have more room in there than you would on a submarine!

    Real world MPG/experiences

Yes its a 6 speed. Still a good trans and should get good mpg all day long as you hang out in 5th and 6th gear. The extra 4 gears slide in between the gears on the 6 speed except for 10th gear I believe. The F150 will get decent enough MPG without trying. The F250 will get decent enough MPG for...

Btw, @rayra, I haven't read the whole thread, just the past few pages, but were you ever stationed on a Los Angeles Class submarine?

BEST PLACE TO MOUNT A HI-LIFT JACK ON A FULLSIZE TRUCK?

Sir, could you please tell my why you're attempting to reanimate the dead?

    Which truck for me?

I know that OP already bought a vehicle, but I've driven a 5.4L Raptor and I'd highly recommend against it. The 6.2L gets as good, if not better, MPG and has more power to boot. The 5.4L isn't inherently bad, and there is a guy I know of with a supercharger on his and you're talking 500hp at the...

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

There is a happy ground between these two comments: If you WANT to do something just for you, go do it! If you wanna dress up like a cowboy go do it, its when it comes to clout or trend chasing when it becomes problematic.

Something like a swing case/saddle box NO DRILLING

When I drilled into my truck for the bed rack I deburred it and then put just a bit of paint over the bit that got drilled. I also threw some fluid film over the area once installed.

The full sized mid-size, my 2014 F150 "Fiddy"

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it 8.8 front and 9.75 rear? The link gears would be for rear only because they're not reverse cut? edit: I'm looking at S3M's site and they only have full sets for 4.11 to 4.56 in that range... so maybe the 4.30 is for 2WD...

The full sized mid-size, my 2014 F150 "Fiddy"

I stand corrected. I don't know the final goals for jumping to 4.10s or 4.30s, but I think either is probably a good call. In my own case I would probably wait until I made the jump to a bigger tire and then figure out how much gear I would want. Worse case scenario you realize you don't need...

The full sized mid-size, my 2014 F150 "Fiddy"

Yes, it has metric 315/75R17 from factory and now its measured 35x12.5R17 and 4.10 gears stock. I think its a great combo, I have the power I want but I'm not screaming on the highway. I'd consider a 4.56 swap if I went to 37s. Its a shame that these trucks don't have 4.27/4.33 options (that I...

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

Absolutely! Something I completely forgot about is the aftermarket! I don't know how many of you were into RC cars as kids or even adults, but those are basically made so you can swap parts from day one, and thats one thing that Jeep and Toyota have on their side. Much harder to find those kinds...

The full sized mid-size, my 2014 F150 "Fiddy"

Thats something I've heard too, basically if you do the swap and you hate it because its not enough of a bump that you expect, but if you overdo it you can always make the jump to a bigger tire.

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

Overlanding is a perfect cross section of "look how much money I have", "look at how resourceful I am" and "look how rugged I am".

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

Not to be difficult but why cant we compare apples to oranges? I know I'm getting a different product when I buy an F150 compared to a Land Cruiser, but I still bought it based on what I wanted... Too many people buy based on what they think they need, or what they want to chase clout on social...
