Yes, yes it would...j/k. Previous to the Xterra I had a 2001 XJ Sport with a 3.5" lift and 32's. I hated that Jeep, drove like crap on the road. It worked great offroad but neither my wife or I ever enjoyed driving it on the road. Since the suspension is essentially the same on the Grand...
I have definitely considered the 2nd gen Xterra's. Problem is mine is an 04, to get an 05 I have to spend nearly twice as much. The value of every vehicle that does fit my needs perfectly is just a little higher than I can afford right now. After hearing more about the 100's I am reluctant to...
Other than power the 80 seems like it would be great rig for me. I also really don't mind the IFS at all. My Xterra has a 1 1/2" lift and does everything I demand of it offroad.
I must say that I am partial to the styling of the 100's though. I used to hate them but now I really like the look.
It sounds like I would be in exaclty the same boat I am now if I got an 80. I guess the horsepower gain is eaten up by the added weight then. I get so impatient when looking for something I want. There are very few if any 100's for sale, if any, in Tucson at any given time, but I see 80's all...
Here is my dilemma. I currently own a 2004 Nissan Xterra. I don't do much serious 4 wheeling, mostly exploring backcountry, bit I do like a little capability when needed though. I don't mind the open diffs.

--Very comfortable off road ride. I have had many 4x4's and the Xterra rides...
This sounds like an awesome trip. If I had the right gear for a multi day trip like this I would be all over it. I think it would be fun on my crf450x. Besides, I can't ride for a couple more months at least due to an AC joint seperation from a crash in Colorado earlier this summer.
I am going to be having the lid built for my trailer in the next couple of weeks and I have been looking around for weatherstripping. So far I have not found anything suitable locally. I did find a lot of options on Mcmaster-Carr but it seems pretty pricey. Before I spend the money I thought...
As far as the YJ springs go, I did find some new ones on 4wheelparts. They are stock replacements for $85 each. I do still plan on stopping down at Arizona Spring and asking them about building me a set.
As far as the fabricator goes, I contacted a guy on Phx that some friend recommended. I...
I had almost forgot. We had 3 helicopter's fly over us all weekend. One circled and checked out the 1st accident. Damned annoying things almost ruined our whole weekend.:xxrotflma:xxrotflma:xxrotflma:xxrotflma
I recently purchased a real simple offroad trailer from Craigslist. It came with 1500lb trailer leaf springs. I quickly determined that the packs were too stiff as I will only be running 400-500lbs of weight in the trailer at any given time. I removed one leaf leaving only the main leaf and...
If any of that carnage had happened with other people who knows how it would have turned out. It was great that everyone was able to laugh it off and still have a good time for the rest of the trip.
The diversion dam on the Salt River is a great place to stop and get in the water. You drive...
We hung for little while this morning then began packing up. We finally got out of camp around 9am.
After leaving camp we decided to head back up the road and check out Mcfadden Peak.
A controlled burn in the distance.
Shortly after leaving Mcfadden Peak I managed to break a main...
We kept pressing on, the trail felt like it was never going to end at this point as we were really hoping to make to Reynolds Creek with some daylight left.
Beautiful area!!!
The view back down Cherry Creek where we had just traveled through.
We made it down to Reynolds Creek to find...
