I do have the old plenum. I kept it in the hops of finding a fix. The fix has to address the shaft as well as the front where the vacuum leaks always occur.

Exactly SOF...this is meant for camping/ski trips/off roading or overlanding. I hope to put it to these uses.

There were a few reasons why I bought this particular Montero. I did look for a few months and what I found was a lot of crap out there that either looks good on paper or pictures...but is different up close. Specifically, what I liked about this example: - CA car - NO rust - NO accidents -...

One final update. I know the coils are very expensive, and give that my misfire was from the injector, I think my coils are perfectly fine. I might just put them up for sale.

Here are three pictures of the old plenum. Basically it had a vacuum leak in the front. But more importantly, the shaft was disconnected from the end closest to the firewall and it moved very freely. I've tried to capture the condition of the holes and missing pieces.

I've also added a CB to the car. It is a $20 Midland unit with a 4 foot antenna mounted on the roof with a magnet. The unit works great but I've been told my voice does not come across that well. I'll be changing the mic at some point, but for now it works great. It was a big pain in the...
