Propane is heavier than air so the detector should be mounted low.
Low mounting a combination CO-propane detector is asking for dust to plug it up.
I like the idea of 2 separate units.
I’d consider filling the foam tank with beer, like Carlsberg, and driving it to local festivals demanding free admission as you offer to spray beer through that monster nozzle onto the overheated crowds.

I see a future with lot of filters clogged with sweaty, salty skin residue much like hot tub filters getting gooped up with skin, oils, hand creme, and other waste.

The speedometer info generally, in an older-ish setup comes from the driveshaft speed. In a 4x4 setup the data, electronically or mechanically, would be generated at the transfer case.
So find the hole for a sensor or a cable in the TC!

I'll go in the opposite direction of cold flow to show a solution.
We run a 1979 Dodge cube van. The cab has no insulation to speak of. Yet.
In the summer we have a thick, old quilt we hang down the box wall just behind the seats to keep the air conditioning inside the cab. Works better than...
That means a hard line right up to the factory connector on any gas appliance. And a forged nut at that flared connection not cast.
