a 2012 JK is going to last longer than a 2001 XJ before needing major repairs. Why? Because it's newer.

    2012 Seat discomfort

That's exactly what happens to me. 5'9", 170 lbs. I have the seat set fairly high, so I don't have to hold my arms so high up to reach the steering wheel. I actually have to drive with my left foot back near the seat, because if I stretch my left leg out, then the pressure begins. THis is...

    2012 Seat discomfort

I hate the seats in my 2012 as well. Issues: Too hard, they put pressure on the underside of my thigh because the front edge of the seat sits too high. This gets really annoying. Don't even get me started on the headrests!!!!!!!!!!!!! I rarely drive it any more. I prefer to drive a crappy...

Guide Me - JKUR for Expo Use

I've came to the same conclusion about steps- most rock rails/rocker guards that have something on them that can be used as a step are high enough that they aren't the best form of a step for short people. Since my Jeep isn't going to see much trail use, it's more of a back country exploring...

Post pics of production teardops and small hard sided campers - no home builds.

I didn't get to take a peak inside of it, but it was sort along the same concept as a tear drop trailer, but the box (the body of the trailer) essentially square rather than rounded. The back opened up with barn doors and had cabinets inside. The roof was flat and was strong enough for a dual...

Concession Window on a Toy Hauler

My thoughts: the hard awning might interfere with the enclosed living space under the fabric awning... the hardcover pretty much goes out straight horizontal. A fabric awning usually will be angled down some to allow water runoff in the rain. I recently upgraded the windows in my Arctic Fox...

Post pics of production teardops and small hard sided campers - no home builds.

I haven't seen the VMI Aspen yet - didn't know it was in the works. When the Compass in the first post was a "build in progress" I went to Mike's shop and checked it out. It's by far one of the neatest trailers I'd seen up to that point. There's another trailer I came across a few weeks...

Guide Me - JKUR for Expo Use

The Rubicon has 4.10 gears, and I've never hit more than 18mpg on a highway trip, even keeping my speed down to 65. (I have a 2012 JKUR with 5 speed auto) I love the 5 speed with the manual mode - works great for trailer towing.

Serious Question about getting a JKU

Curious how old your kids are. I think three kids would be a tight squeeze, and as they get older, they want more space. I'm voting stick with the Silverado (for the space it offers) I have a JKU-R and at 5'9" the back seat isn't a place I'd want to spend a significant amount of time.

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Mine had to go back to the dealer to get a new driver's side cylinder head installed - yep, it had the "cylinder head problem" that some 2012s develop. I picked it up, it runs super quiet once again. I haven't driven it much within the last week though.

Made the Leap - 2012 AEV Built JK Unlimited Rubicon

I love mine, until it snows. The won't melt the snow off the lens if the snow is somewhat wet and accumulates on the front of a rig while driving.
