    Project: Family Overlander

I like the carrier. Does the pin pull up to unlock it? Also, did you think of putting more of an angle so the top of the tire sits closer to the hatch? I look at mine and feel like it might be more aerodynamic if it was angled. Not that it really matters.:smiley_drive:

Wish I was anywhere near a beach I could drive to. Looks like the suspension has settled a bit. It's at the perfect height/tire ratio.

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

Finally got the Jeep back from the driveline shop. Got them to build me a custom double cardan rear shaft for the QuadraDrive transfer case (247). I still have to adjust the rear pinion angle upwards. Also had a chance to install the JKS front disconnects. Took some time today to get the...

    XJ vs. WJ

Wj all the way. I have a good friend with an XJ and it's definitely not in the same league. Wj has better steering, seats, frame, options and headlights. Xj is a nice trail rig but nowhere as nice for a daily driver. Of course this is my personal opinion. I did own an XJ for all of 2 months.

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

Love the Waggy. Wish I could find one that clean for a Sunday driver.

Finally settled on a roof top tent. I've been looking into them for over a year and after much research on all the pros and cons of most tent on the market I purchased what I think is "The One". I'm excited to test it out when I receive it later this week. After looking at all the CVT, Tepui...

Thanks guys. Got around to installing the Addco rear sway bar today with the IRO extended links. Definitely a lot more stable. I might look into the front Addco at some point.

It's been a while since I've updated this. Been lots going on in my life so far this year so the Jeep has been sitting in the garage. I bought a daily driver and considered selling the Jeep for a little while but after sitting in the garage and looking at it for a while I decided I was too far...

Thank you! I don't mind the exhaust so far. Still did not get a chance to take it on the highway. Working on getting an Addco rear sway bar and it's not going well. Apparently they've been backordered for quite some time now.

Overland The Third. ARB WJ inside!

It's been a while. I've been away most of the winter. Didn't have much time to do anything in terms of modifications or travel (did travel but by plane). Got a new exhaust done yesterday. Had it made with a flange right beside the cross member so it's easily removable, Magnaflow muffler and a...

    Back into a WJ

Very nice pictures. I'll let you know when I get back to Calgary. We should go for a trail run.

    Back into a WJ

Looks like Duplicolor gunmetal wheel paint. Love the Jeep. Where in Alberta are you?

Thanks. There's 2 snorkels. The SS1140HF works for 4.0L and 4.7L non HO. The SS1145HF only works on the High output 4.7L. I think the only difference is in the airbox adapter. The body of the snorkel might be a little bigger but I have yet to compare it to a non HO version.

Not much new to report at this time. Life has been getting in the way of enjoying the Jeep so far this year. Got a few little things I'm looking to add when I get a chance and I'd like to take it out to stretch it's legs sooner than later.

    "Patience" WJ Expo Build

Looking good! Jeep looks really clean. I'm guessing the tires are load range E. What made you go with that size over the 255-75-17?

There's no doubt that a DD would be nice. Unfortunately I'm the type of person that gets bored easily and ends up changing cars or modifying them to keep things fresh, can't change the wife ;) I'm also planning on building a new house in the next year or two. So that takes buying a nice new DD...

Yeah, that's what I thought. Even a cheap DD at $3-4K is going to be at least $50 a month in insurance and who knows what maintenance will be like.

I hardly get 400 kms on a 75 Litre tank. On board computer says 20L/100 kms so it's not far off.

I know what you mean. My Jeep averages around 12 MPG when loaded up with all the gear and family in it. I might look into a daily driver but I'm not sure the cost of depreciation, maintenance and insurance on another vehicle is worth it.
