Yes it definitely will get full charge frequently and after every use, including tonight. However, my trip to UT will be 9 nights without a plug so I need to make sure I can regain close to 100% using solar to compensate for the minimal use I tested with yesterday. My friend is bringing his...
I’m out of daylight so I’m going to let it sit an hour and see where I am at according to the BMS. Right now with the fridge off it’s sitting at 100% and 12.98v.
Yea these are not the most expensive panels on Amazon haha...I get what I pay for! It seems as though I may have regained most of what I used in my 10 hour run test yesterday.
Unshaded tests are complete and results are pretty much identical for both parallel and series. Odd part is, adding the water heater load didn’t result in any higher wattage from the panels/controller. It basically 0’ed out the charge to the battery.
I’m not sure what I can do to maximize the...
Ok so quick test. Left panel, right panel, series, parallel.
Left
right
series
parallel
clearly parallel is optimal for current lighting/shading. I will test again when I have no shade a bit later today. However numbers are still weak sauce!
Back to solar. I’m preparing for my trip to UT in a couple of weeks and I ran my heater and fridge for 10 hours yesterday to simulate a night of use. I consumed 16% battery and today I am trying to regain all of that with solar. It’s early morning but the sun is out and my panels are on the...
I always got a kick out of it when my RC trucks could do this! I like where the technology is going.

I needed to add some air return vents from the cabin to the galley as on full blast the heater was creating some serious negative pressure in the galley with the door closed. I found a couple of clean looking closet vent covers for a 2" opening so I drilled 2 holes. I added some register filter...
I like your thread, I wish I found this before doing all of the same testing you did! I found that the UCO candles actually emit some condensation themselves when I locked them lit inside of my camper that has no condensation built up on the windows only to find it slowly building without...
^I do the same, I think I got mine for $50 off someone local on one of the sell your stuff apps. Works awesome and I routed the USB cable through my dash so it is always ready.
Well now, that looks awesome...kinda like a boat/house mix! That could be a very real possibility if they can keep the angular "Tanto" shape of my cabin, I definitely dont want a 6 sided box! Having that level of insulation is one thing, but the cleanliness of the trim and edges is very...
Well that is something to consider but I get excited about wood! And not in the weird way! I have been surrounded by carpentry since my birth and I really like the cabin look and feel of it all....however it has its drawbacks such as moisture retention and fading when it gets wet. I won’t be...
