Need the solar/power pros to weigh in

I'll be damned that is cool as hell!! I think this would work sliding forward over the fronted slant part of the rig, my roof vent will be farther down so even fully open it should not interfere with that setup. That is awesome!! Passenger side and rear will be taken up by the 270* awning and...

That sounds very interesting and kinda cool! Any links for inspiration for the racks you speak of?

Need the solar/power pros to weigh in

The issue I have with rigid is where to put them. I use my roof rack for kayak at the very least and I would like to ultimately be able to carry 2 up there so the solar would be either under the rack rails (which at camp the yak is usually down on the ground or in the truck bed) or on the...

Need the solar/power pros to weigh in

I need to figure it all out because I want to make this a doomsday rig which will be fully self sufficient indefinitely. Not exactly practical in a real doomsday scenario but that’s what I’m going for in terms of functionality so I need to figure out everything I need first. Not making a...

Need the solar/power pros to weigh in

I’m just tossing around ideas for my next build which will be a 5x10’ off road rig. Tanto Fallout or something like that haha. I’ll definitely be going lithium on that build but that part of the build is at least a year off.

    My last hurdle - condensation

While I wait for the fancy pants controller possibility I did randomly stumble upon a version that shuts off the LCD display after some time of inactivity. This will be nice as the screen can be a bit bright and it won't add to draining the battery while not in use. I'll report back how it...

    My last hurdle - condensation

And that’s how I ended up on the waitlist... while I wait I can’t help but keep at it. I reduced the pump noise significantly with some Velcro strips and mesh cable wrap. Also got underneath and buttoned up the lines and covered them in corrugated cable housing. Ran some coil housing on the...

    My last hurdle - condensation

Yeaaaaaaaa you had to didn't you? Haha! I have caught this out of the corner of my eye when browsing the facebook groups for the chinese diesel heaters and I just have been telling myself NO! How awesome would it be to have Bluetooth control of the heater?...semi-awesome at least! If I get...

    Cell service booster? Any good?

Not sure if this is the best place for it, but does anyone use a cell service booster in their RV, van, trailer, truck, etc? I am looking for a 12v solution to extend my ATT cell and data service. I know getting away from all of that is sometimes the purpose but I am looking for a solution for...

    My last hurdle - condensation

Thanks for the info! As I sit here without much to work on with the current 1.0 build...I am picking at things that probably don't need to be picked at but I found this article regarding 90* elbows decreasing the fuel pump tick noise by "up to" 10dB. Any idea if that is worth it...

    My last hurdle - condensation

Good video, looks like the unit would probably fit in my current rig with 2 extra holes haha. Luckily I am not in need of plumbing. @luthj out of curiosity and pardon my ignorance but can you tell me why this would not work for human water use and should only be used for engine coolant?

    My last hurdle - condensation

What is the best way to maintain or “summer-ize” the heater for warmer temps? I won’t be using this heater much above 45* F. Is it ok to leave the diesel in the system or somehow drain it in the spring? I imagine it would see 6+ months of absolutely 0 use every year.

    My last hurdle - condensation

That hurdle isn't even in my current race! I think I see the home stretch and finish line on this build! Going for a few victory laps then back to work haha

    My last hurdle - condensation

being the tech nerd I am, got 2 of these for more bluetooth radiation. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W53L4RD/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A146NQGBZHNAE1&psc=1 One will go in the galley to keep track of my fridge/heater/battery space and one will be in the cabin.

    My last hurdle - condensation

In my case I really have no concern of things freezing but may change if I get into some really brutal temps now that I have some motivation. I was able to warm things up nicely about 30 mins before heading into the cabin for bed, it was off the remainder of the day. now, if only they made an...
