    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Good news. Both front cab cavetys are clear of blockages and the rubber outlets are working as they should. So, time for a progress update. I had not been 100% set on my home made roof hatches for a while... They'd have worked fine, but it was kust more weight and work for me building them so...

Agreed, the bike rack has come up well, and your truck is sitting well. Looks great!

That's one seriously busy mind! I don't know how you do it. Maths was a failing of mine... unless I actually needed it for what I'm doing, then I was interested! ?

    1124 AF Double Cab

I think thered be a few drawbacks with a normal washing machine... Firstly the drum is supposed to be locked with bolts when being transported, secondly, they often have weights in the bottom to help stop them wandering, and thirdly just their shear size put us off... We looked at the draw type...

How about the Daewoo Wall Mount unit... 2kg capacity, so not huge, but can be mounted on a wall, and has a short 20 min wash cycle option too... It's what we are planning on using.

    The OutFit - Unimog U1700L

No worries. It was Ian that put me onto them, and as you can see by his thread, he'll have much more real time feedback on them than I have.

Great build vid. Where was this pic taken? Looks like a great spot off the beaten track. Has Covid hampered your travels or are you still mobile? Cheers.

    1124 AF Double Cab

Another vote here for keeping it simple on 22.5's. We are going to be running the 315/80 R22.5's that are on our truck, and just to add to the confusion, I'm sticking with the duals on the rear axle. :)

    The OutFit - Unimog U1700L

Hi again. So, it might be worth a call to these guys... Ask for David. Before you call him, look up Vetus Hatches. They do boat deck hatches etc. I recently bought a pair of the 'MAG6363SL' Magnus Escape Hatches, with trim surround and mozzi screens. The guys were helpful, and the product seems...

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

So, after a few weeks of no motivation (again... the joys of depression and IBS all thrown in together), I have all the rear wiring finished, and all the side skirts and lockers secure. It was time to turn the truck around so I can focus on the front. Next was to repair a crack from an...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Looking good. You'd be surprised how much crud a hot pressure wash will bring off. I washed our truck at work using the hot wash/steam cleaner and some 'truck wash' soap. I wish I'd spent a full day at this point with the pressure washer, because once the truck was home and disabled, I found a...

Help/questions with MB1017A axle numbers and fast-upgrade in North America

So, is the above list of ratios just to suit the AL3 axle? I have found our front ration in the list (43:10 4,300), but not our rear ratio of 4,333 which is in the larger HL7 axle. The slight difference would I guess help with lead/lag. On another note, I believe Atego rear axles are a newer...

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

Nothing like pressure to push you along!! How heavy is all that hydraulic stuff? I had a small 24v motor, with a pump, tank and hydraulic valving, and it was as much as I could do to pick it up on my own...

    Euro 6 complient

Fendt are testing an electric tractor. I think they are running into the same issues as Tesla with their trucks. Battery capacity is just not there for something that works hard. It's all well and good on a lightweight small car with narrow pizza cutter wheels, but not so great on a 44 tonne...

    Euro 6 complient

In Australia we do the opposite as it's nothing but problems! ;) I chose an old truck as I don't want the complexity associated with Ad Blue, DPF's and the EGR. We have a V6 Amarok which we use for short trips out bush. With 2500kms on it I brought it half way back across Australia on the back...
