Looking good! Any crazy horns, or something sensible... :)

    Compressed Air Outlet

I don't know where the port is, but there's another way of doing it... Put a Tee in one of the main tank outlets and get your supply from there. If you find the right tank, it can be used the other way around in that if the motor is dead, another truck can hook up, charge your air system, and...

    1124 AF Double Cab

Yup, the colour divide works well. We are doing the side skirts on ours in Satin Black, with the body in Grey. Wheels are going Silver as I'm not a fan of the Black Wheel fad that's happening here. :)

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Hi all. More progress over the last week. I have all the rear lights etc fitted and now wired. The things you think will take 5 min seem to swallow hours. I'm happy with the result. Today was less productive in the shed. We did a whole lot of leaf raking and clearing/cleaning of our block in...

    1124 AF Double Cab

That sits on there really well, and with the space above the cab filled in (roof top tents or roof rack) and some side skirts to match the body it'll look really good. It's nice that the base of the hab box matches the front cab wheel arch. It will look uniform too! Looking forward to seeing...

    Local car dealer selling this

That depends.... on the price of this one... If it's not advertised on the Interweb and the seller traded it on something else, he may not know its value... ;)

    Local car dealer selling this

Army, Ag and Industrial/Council. I used to drive one of two Ag Mogs hauling trailers in the UK. They were very similar to the one you posted above, but with adjustable Ag Rims. I think the differences were gearing, and the options/lack of PTO's and rear Ag linkage.

Thanks for sharing. They don't come up often! The wheelbase can always be extended. :)

    1124 AF Double Cab

We cut the rear of the chassis down, so the bumper could sit flush with the rear of the body and incorporate the twin spare wheels... Could you do similar and have the bikes sat in a cradle behind the rear lights, thus sitting lower? If you run a mast type lifting system then you don't have to...

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

I did the same. It didn't work and needed all sorts of stuff uploading to make it work... I then spoke to the I.T guru at work, he had a quick look and said 'get rid quickly'... I did. The Ebay system involves a 'virtual computer' running on your computer, fooling the program into thinking its...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Yeah, ideally make a cardboard cut-out of the front arch, and then place it over the rear wheel. This will give you a rough idea of where the rear arch needs to be. With the rear body in place you might have to cut an arch into the floor or lift the body a little if you can. This is all based on...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Yup, lots look like that even though they are fine. I used to be involved in building horse box bodies on trucks in the UK. I always thought the smaller trucks looked overloaded as the arch was way too low, so used to make the front and rear arches similar (or match where possible) on the bigger...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

If you can, make the base of the body match the top of the front wheel arch.... or the rear will always look like its overloaded... If you have to build in a cut out on the floor of the body.

Merkabah: MB 2626 AK 6x6 tipper to expedition truck conversion

Yup, I too am curious as to how it's going over there. I think I'm almost at the same stage as you now... Any more plans with your Hab Box and it's layout? :)

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Having a very hot weekend did indeed stop the top coat being applied to the underslung lockers that sit behind the rear wheels. This however worked out in my favour, as it meant I could still easily access the inside of the rear bumper for wiring the lights. I had salvaged the rear lights from...

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Our climate has its positives... but it also has its negatives... So far we are very lucky in that we are having a mild summer. Today has a very pleasant high of 26 deg. This time last year we were suffering with temps between 45 and 50 deg. You can't do anything in that heat! Re the front...

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Another day of prep and paint had the tank cradle and rear bumper painted. And then refitted using the tractor... Here's how the truck looks as of this afternoon. Next job this week is to devise a way to secure 3 Jerry Cans into each rear lower locker. Once done, these can be primed...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Just seeing your comment on roof hatches... I got a shock at their cost... Look at Marine hatches... They (I think) offer a more cost effective solution. Great thread by the way. It's good to see all the different opinions coming in.

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Hello! The joys of planning your build eh!! Two things I pick up on... (and I'm far from being an expert, so don't take it as correct! ;) ) Firstly, I tend to agree with Joe917 in that you will find that seating frustrating, especially at the cooker end.... We have mocked ours up in the Hab...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

I'd think you'd be better supplying a basic engineering drawing of 'your' truck... Mine had been modified since it left the factory, and then I shifted and changed stuff again to suit our build... Different diesel tank, batteries and air tanks relocated, spare wheel carrier shifted, tail of...
