Big progress! You must be pleased!

Last up today was the muffler fitment. More painting and prep tomorrow!

With all this freshly painted stuff dry this morning, the only logical thing to do was to bolt it all on!! First up was the gas locker and panel work. These panels are all held on by M8 bolts. To allow the panels to move under chassis twist, I am adding some thick rubber washers to each bolt...

So, with all this time off and the weather on my side, I've managed to finish, sand, prime and paint half of the side skirt panels. Hot tip for anyone building their own truck like I am... Finish and prime each job! It's a pain in the ******** having to clean up and finish stuff that should have...

And if you are looking in the UK, make sure you have someone physically look over it before parting with your hard earned cash... They salt the roads in winter and it doesn't do vehicle chassis and bodies any good! Cars with minimal or no rust here in Australia has taken some getting used to! :)...

A 4x4 bus would have to be one of the few ways forward... Tho expensive this one would be pretty good... It's going places where we would go in our truck, and to be honest we wouldn't plan to do much more than that... An option worth considering.

Hi Palebluewanders. The truck came with the front diff lock. The whole setup was a lucky find. High range, low range, front and rear diff locks, and a decent wheelbase. Not common here in Oz! The only thing I'd have wanted to add was a V8 and more gears, but it would have been a lot more thirsty...

Hi fella. So, I'm using Solver Ag Enamel. which mix to the colour you want. It coats very well, sticks to anything, and dries within half an hour. I'm going with one coat as it's gone on well, and realistically, very little of the chassis will be seen when the job is finished. :)
