update...
Well, I managed to get an update from FUSO as to what's happening with the cold weather kit for my truck, and I'm supposing others.
The cold weather campaign will be part of the turbo/dpf/pcv/ecu campaign. They're still staging parts, but apparently the newer trucks are going to be...
It'll be interesting to see where you go with this. Keep posting updates.
What was the reason for the bed liner? Can't say it's a bad idea either to go gasser, especially if you're heading south.
Yep, same.
I use a light spray lube (WD-40) instead of grease on the studs, but also torque to the low end. Also have the torque wrench, and a torque multiplier to help get them off if I don't want to use, or break out the impact.
necropost time!
Has anyone else not gotten the cold weather recall notice?
I'm in California, and for some reason (I'm not getting answers from FUSO NA, so far), it seems my truck isn't "qualifying" for the recall. Is there anyone else in California that's gotten a cold kit recall on their truck?
Ah, interesting. There's no such switch on the duonic equipped truck, I guess one must take it on faith that the thing knows what it's about.
One of the idiosyncrasies of the system.
When I stop, the transmission downshifts normally to first gear. If I release the brake pedal, slowly or suddenly, doesn't matter....it'll roll back. Note that this is on steep hills though - the kind of hill that will give you a trans oil overheat warning when you take off. Or try to take off...
2012, eh?
We're in the same boat.
I had an interesting conversation yesterday with support, asking them for an ETA on the DPF/Turbo recall. I was told that they're still in the planning stage, with the EPA still needing to approve the software changes, and they'll be working backwards - 2016...
Can't find the Sensatyre in N.A., but I've heard good things about them. If I could get a system, I'd probably opt for that. Have to check to see if I can import one, but don't see why not.
ETA: Looks like I can get it shipped here no worries - maybe Alan will autograph it for me :D
RE: CTIS -...
Yeah, I'm not going to go with the externals, internals only.
Any and all of them can fail, but having had front flats a few times at highway speed, while in a loaded deuce and a half, I really don't need that kind of excitement any more. When we're heading out on a trip it's normal that I'll...
I'm thinking about installing something that'll monitor the pressures, especially for highway travel. The new wheels are in, powder coated, and ready to have rubber put on.....time for TPMS to go on, or not.
If you are running a TPMS, and like it, please post up. I'd like to know what's good...
Good question. When I spoke with the tech, trying to clarify what the issue is, he said that the PCV is actually not a simple PCV. It spins to throw off the oil into the system and apparently the software parameters give very little room for pressure variances. I'd think that if it was frozen up...
Well, I'm knocking on wood. Got a 2012, still waiting on recall notice for the PCV/DPF/DEF/Turbo work.
I think pretty much all of them had to have replacement transmissions after the first ones were contaminated while being assembled. My second trans is working fine. I still say that if there's...
