    Out-of-round or bent EC Wheels

If that shop has spin balancing equipment, it would take only a minute to gauge that wheel and figure out what the real issue is. I agree with going to EC first before fiddling with them. I'd be curious to see how that other shop can do a reset on a forged aluminum wheel. Spun aluminum...

Good guide to keeping your build legal

I was wondering what was happening with your build, mog. Thanks for the update!

Expedition Vehicle You Want as Part of your Group

LOL, that reminds me of the years during the Calico Mogfest where a guy with a Pinzi showed up - rear of the truck was converted into two pizza ovens, he served pies, calzone, all sorts of things during the lunch stop. Good times.

Day One...not that this is going to go fast, or anything

Thanks, Mog! Yeah, you found out one of my secret installations, still trying to figure out the best way to integrate the CROWS on it, also have to find room for the AN/PSS-7 WOLFHOUND v10.1/2 and the rest of the AN/MLQ-44 PROPHET ESISS. Definitely toasty, we've been keeping a close eye on...

Day One...not that this is going to go fast, or anything

Thanks Those ladders also work well to protect that leading edge gelcoat from branch hits. I still have to install the rubber toggles to hold the two boxes on the top rack, should have that done later this month.

    Building a new bumper.................Considerations?

I opted for a fixed bumper/bar assembly. Not so much for the very occasional animal hit, but because I have the cab tilted much more often. And I know myself. And I know shop techs. And I know that sooner or later, that cab will be tilted right into the tilting brushguard that hasn't been...

Day One...not that this is going to go fast, or anything

Latest update: didn't get it regeared lower, but at least the LS is in the front. I'll have to see how it behaves on the trails, but it's working well for roadways.

Anyone know of a trustworthy fab shop in the San Diego area?

Thanks, John. I'll give him a call and see what he says.

    chiptune dpf delete problems

OK, back home now. So - EC FX is installed, had a 975 or so mile drive home, only one issue. Had a EngSys amber light come on, with a DPF icon also ambered out. Reason was a very long uphill in 95 degree weather (the Grapevine, heading south, for those of you that know it). I downshifted, three...

Yep. But it's a whole herd of things. The build took a bit longer than they thought, so the truck sat for quite a while, with only a few starts and stops in three+ months. Those starts and stops were to get it moved probably less than a hundred feet each time, and it was apparently never...

    chiptune dpf delete problems

Yeah, Kevin, I remember reading what happened. Ridiculous that they couldn't get that fixed, but you're probably putting your new ride to good use and actually getting out there, instead of having a Fuso service center bay ornament like I seem to have, currently. Supposedly they're getting EC20...

NPR 4wd conversion and camper build thread.

Sounds like a great project, and who knows? It's one direction I might eventually go with the 2012 I've got, if I get disgusted enough with the stock system. I've got a 2001 6BTA mated to a NV4500 sitting in a Suburban right now. I was planning on p-pumping it anyway, so I'll be watching what...

Still in Bend, truck is still at the service center. So far it's a small issue with a harness plug (harness being replaced), and they're replacing NOx, O2, and SCR sensors...all of them. Under warranty, at least, so that's good. Only thing I can think of is that they were somehow contaminated...

It is what it is. Going to roll out of town in a bit, heading a ways south for a while. Not doing any good waiting around here, so might as well go sit around a lake, ya know? Anyway, EC camper build is done, but we don't know if the issue is old DEF, DPF clogged, crapped out injector doser...

    chiptune dpf delete problems

Well, as I sit here in Bend, with the '12 sitting at the Pacific Truck Center with a range of DPF/DEF issues....has anyone had any further experiences with a DPF elimination? Yeah, necropost, I know. What the hell, it'll only take a week and a half until it actually gets to the front of the...

Yep, sucker for punishment, that's me. 2012 Duonic Steinbauer module...

See what happens when you try to do something in a situation like this: you're on a piece of level ground, but soft. When you stop, your tires sink in to about 1/4 of their diameter. The ground can be easily shoveled, but it's not loose by any means, just soft enough to sink into. Now start...

Same behavior on my Duonic truck. They've got their quirks. I'll play around with the module on and off, and try the eco and regular modes. I'm also curious to see if it has any effect on first gear starting out when the wheels aren't able to roll.

Original 161 HP 295 lb·ft STEINBAUER 193 HP 369 lb·ft Bit of a difference. I'm sure it'll help on long hills, but I'm also curious to see if it helps at lower speeds, climbing ledges and such. Anything that helps with minimizing wear and tear on the entire rig is a good thing, and...

Adventures of "Sally Ross" Fuso Camper by Phoenix Pop Up Campers PHXFG

The traction might not necessarily be better, much depends on what you get for rubber, but airing down always helps with any tread design. A couple of big advantages are lessened drag through soft terrain - mud, sand and the like. This'll only happen though, if you run the wheels with the same...
