Hi Alan - that's good to hear. Steinbauer directed me to this dealer, after I talked with the Steinbauer folks. They said it might be a wait, since they haven't sold any modules for the Duonic trucks here in the U.S.?
Anyway, good to hear they're working fine. Looks like an easy install too...
Well, it's ordered, should be here this week.
Since I haven't had enough guinea pig experiences in my life, and I'm trying to establish a record, it's apparently the first Steinbauer module for the Duonic that's been ordered in the U.S.A. Got it from a dealer in California, took a couple of...
It'll be very interesting to see how well everything works. Looking great so far.
Regarding that radio, and the touch screen - have you used that model in any of your builds so far? Just curious, because I've stayed away from touch screens as much as possible in my off road vehicles...
Looking good, Allan!
Who knows, maybe we'll run across each other on the road this year. Should have our rig on the road by the end of next month, at the least I'm hoping so.
Not much one can do, other than A:Older truck, B: retrofit older engine/trans to newer truck, C: be a megamillionaire and have a fuel bowser follow you everywhere.
Fluffy: Yep, agreed as to having an onboard diagnostic system. Unfortunately, they're pricey no matter what.
Jon: Yah, I think we're all kinda using "MUT-III" as a generic term for the Fuso system. I've got an Integron xentry system sitting here, for inclusion on the rig when it's picked up.
Heck yeah as to the dealership!
Just wait till you see my prices in the middle of the tundra!
Seriously though, agreed as to access to dealers v no access. But also - what's easy access? Down the street? Within a hundred miles? How about a 300 mile tow from the middle of nowhere, that's...
Since yahoogroups is freaking impossible to use, I'll ask here instead :sombrero:
So - for those of you that have done extended trips, or even non-international travelers with FG's: What truck or camper related spares do you carry?
We've got an Alaska trip coming up in a 2012 model. Basic...
OK, time to move this out of the way.
I've got a tray with a headache rack that has been removed from my 2012 FG. Heavy duty steel bed, folding headache rack, Better Built toolbox and fuel tank combo, with a Graco 12v pump on the 75 gallon tank. (maybe it was 65 gallons, come to think of...
Kanga - I have a 2012, and I've also seen that the Scangauge "might" work on it. I think, however, I'm going to opt for the factory unit. It's not that much more expensive, and I've had one bad experience already with an aftermarket scanner. Luckily it seems to work well for another owner's...
One of the other things to note is that California is going to nail you on sales tax. Yep, even though you bought it in another state.
That's one of the primary reasons I'm not about to register our rig in Cali. I'll have to drop all the CA ID - residence, license, etc....but it'll be worth it...
Hmmm...more and more tempting. I wonder how well they work with the Duonic, if at all?
Just sent Steinbauer USA an email, I'll post up whatever they reply with.
