Thanks for posting this. Interesting analogy, I agree. The Art Director and I have been recently talking about this exact subject (I sent it on to him). - Andy

    Smallest four-wheeled expedition vehicle?

FYI, I think I'd take ANY of these small overland vehicles. Ultimately, I'd love a new Jimny. I'm just on the wrong continent. :D - Andy

    Smallest four-wheeled expedition vehicle?

Saw this via Facebook yesterday and thought I'd share. I am not going to lie, it looks kinda fun. It is AWD, as I understand it; love the ATV wheels/tires! It is a Suzuki Cultus, I believe, but sold under a variety of other nameplates. - Andy

    The Perfect Brew........!

Homebrewer here, although never done any mobile stuff. (Just bottled my Old Ale last week.) If I had the room, I'd do forced carbonation and a kegerator. Until that happens, it's bottles. Just an update on some of the better beers I've tried in the last month: Rush River Winter (River Falls...

Overland Journal peaks my interest in rare meats.

The Rib Co. in Yucca Valley, CA used to have an exotic menu. I read they dropped it, though (their website doesn't show them either). They had snake, kangaroo, gator, and I thought they had access to lion meat, but I might be remembering that incorrectly. When in Germany, I had...

    Suzuki XA Alpha concept

FYI, this is a crossover-type vehicle, not a Jimny replacement. It is built on the Swift platform with FWD and AWD options. It does not have solid axles, either. Here's a link to an Indian automotive forum site with some good photos and discussion about the vehicle...

Acura MDX - anyone here has one? feedback?

While I haven't owned one, I've spent some time with a 2010 and 2011 model. Very nice vehicles. Super solid, well built, very good driving dynamics. The SH-AWD works very well in snow, even with the 19" tire option (although not optimal). I had an '11 up on Mt. Hood in the snow, and it was quite...

"Adventure" vehicle for a small family?

Would the Suzuki SX4 be too small for you? I've got at '10 AWD with a manual trans, and I really like it. If it's too big, there is also the Suzuki Grand Vitara (I'm kind of a Suzuki fan :D). LIke rxm6 said, Compass (or the Jeep Patriot) might work well, too. - Andy
