Do you have a platform or are you sleeping on the bed level? Plywood or a rubber bed mat with carpet and foam works well as a base then use foam pads or therma rest type mats. I have also found chaise loung pads work well too.

Check your front wheel bearings frequently with off road use and heavy loads. FYI the left front spindle is hollow (weaker) because of the speedometer cable.

If you get an H3 go for the adventure package. You get a 4:1 low range and rear locker. Get a newer one with the 3.7 L engine or try to find an Alpha with a V8. Hummer's aren't being made any more and there are few aftermarket parts

I had great luck with ARB lockers in my YJ. If you are re-gearing and have the diffs apart you might as well get lockers front and rear!
