New Garmin Montana 700 Series GPS Units with 5" Touchscreen and InReach Capable

I'm seriously considering the 700i. It seems to have all the features in one unit that my other various devices don't have. Currently I'm still using my Nuvi 500 in my FJ and it works great in US and Baja. It came standard with Topo maps and that's handy when I'm in remote areas for locating...

Cargo Baskets - Show me how you secure your load!

Hey Herbie, I like how you use the hitch hauler on the roof rack. Nice work.

    Storage Options

I have a low-end gun case for my Yaesu VX7 and all the bits and pieces. It's nice to have it all in one place, but I usually just take out the bits I need for specific uses or trips. It's nice, but for all my other radio's I use a drawer and ziploc bags for the loose bits.

    ***SCAMS ON EXPO*** BEWARE!!!

Sorry this happened, and it sucks for sure. Red flags to me are new members with no post history. I would be very careful with this type of user, but it doesn't always mean they aren't legit. For more expensive items I like to try and get a phone number and talk to the person. Doesn't always...

    Baja California

My other Baja mantra is "see gas, get gas" you never know when a gas station that shows up on a map is going to be closed down...

    Baja California

The rule I use in Baja is you don't need the FMM until you need the FMM. Having been asked for one in Baja Sur at a checkpoint many years ago I now get one online ahead of time. It makes the process at immigration go faster since it's already filled out. It costs as much as $27 to do it online...

Baja XL 2021... Anyone else signed up?

Damn, and it's such a cool rally. Sorry to hear of it ending like this. Edit: I just spent a while on the Baja XL FB page. Good reading on the "support and news" section. Looks like it could be a cool rally, but it's hard to tell from all the comments how well organized it is. Bring your...

    TW 200 Windshield help/advice

Windscreens are a personal preference item. Growing up riding un-faired bikes I think I just go used to it. Buffeting is a big deal for some and sometimes annoying to me too, but that's usually at high speeds above 60mph. Youtube is my go to for moto mods. I'm sure this is a common topic on...

Off-Road Trailer Build - Pump Trailer Transformation

That's really cool. How is the stability? does it sway at all when entering or while you are in the tent? I'm looking to add something like this to my trailer at some point, but want to be able to raise the tent.

Off-Road Trailer Build - Pump Trailer Transformation

Great build. I'd like to see more of it, and particularly what you used for the roof top tent to raise it up.

Beta 500 RR-S with supermoto conversion, or TM SMR530FI?

I ride with several people who have Beta's and they absolutely love them. I'll note that a few of them have complained about the electrical connectors and wiring being less than robust. Get the one that makes you smile the most.
