I reported it to the mods the other day and asked them to merge these two threads, but they never did.

I'm a long time amateur fridge user. I run it off the car battery under the hood. I use old fridges without the fancy shutoff option so I just keep an eye on the voltage. @dreadloks has given some really good spot on info based on his usage experience.
These things cycle on and off so they...
I've put both my RotoPax and my Wavian & Wedco inside without issue. You just need to make sure ahead of time that they don't leak fumes.
I've had to replace most of the gaskets on my Wedco's and Wavians because they break down over time and use.
I've done both with no noticeable differences. I go heavy on the roof rack so it all comes down to how I'm loading up with also taking into account weight distribution. I usually only carry five gallons of gas max, but also have had water up top too.
I tend to default to the rear of the...
I think you're going to be happy with the MT45. I think that's the perfect size. The MT35 is too small for longer trips so that's why I got the TwoZone topper for mine. My recently purchased MT60 is way too big for my FJ but I'm planning to put it in my newly acquired trailer.
I would think I'd have tons of pics of my fridge, but I don't.... I did dig up some old ones..
Engel still sells these models which are essentially unchanged except for some electronics updates.

Some cool Engel History...
20 years for my ARB (Engel) MT35F that I've owned for ten years (Purchased 2010), and it was already nine years old when I got it. My owners manual has a print date of 2001 with a s/n 0048. It has performed flawlessly in extreme temps.
I turn ours off at night. I do it for the sound and the conserve my battery.
I've been running a ARB/Engel MT35 for over ten years now, and no problems with this method.
Try camping with four or five others that have a fridge... One time I was in a small site with several rigs with fridges...
I've had so much anticipation for this bike, but finally stopped following it. I will strongly consider trading my 1090 for one of these.
Still waiting...
I got the steel latches for a few of mine. I was hoping that they wouldn't fall out as easily as the plastic ones. They work pretty good, but you still gotta stay on top of them because they can still fall out.
I hear you on the heat. That's been an issue for sure with the heat. That's the main reason we don't use the cups of that type. A paper liner helps a lot with the heat. That's my cousin in the pic, and he doesn't use the paper plate method. I think that's his spatula on his leg under the plate...
Baked Enamelware plates.
For plates we've been using these for years, and they work great for us. We usually put paper plates on them so we don't have to wash them. Super durable, resistant to heat, easy to pack and stow. Never have floppy paper plate meals again! Keep food warm over the...
