    Mitsu Fuso Camper examples

I think that might be me. Weren't they Carl and Mark? And I thought they were from Colorado? Heh. pretty bad. I'll dig through some of the video I have, I might have gotten some of them. I'll also ask my buddy that drove out with me, maybe he remembers. ETA: Nope, I think that's Carl...

new recovery tracks for large offroad vehicles

Other than size, how do they compare to Maxtrax? Length is definitely a plus for the bigger trucks.

    FGs for sale

Neither do I, and I managed to visit every FG out there, I think.

    FUSO FG Seats?

Ah, you too, eh? Yep, with air bag inflated it's under enough tension to keep the scissor pivots quiet. Where the issue arises is the slop in the actual rack slider - the fore and aft mechanism. It's sloppy in all axis, and the only way I can reasonably think to solve it is to mill out some...

    Suspension seats for dual cab

I'd check into how Unimog, Tatra, etc do their double cab lifts. Usually hydraulics to lift, the latching isn't that hard to engineer. Stock FG and FE latching would probably be fine, especially since there isn't much twisting going on in the middle of the chassis. If you're going to go to that...

I'm looking forward to it - you've posted up some great footage in the past. Safe travels, and may the trail rise up to greet you!

    FG's in Action

Very good points, dlh. Especially the health warnings. One other major thing to remind yourself when this sort of thing happens - don't rush. I personally like the UK way of doing things: Have a breakdown, brew up a cup of tea, sit back, and think about it awhile before doing anything. I'll...

    Recommended FG Mechanics

One good group I've found locally is Southern California Fleet Services, aka SoCal Truck Center, in Escondido, CA, 450 Corporate Drive, (760) 233-1383. They're an authorized FUSO service center. There's another FUSO service center down in San Diego, can't recall the name but they're in Kearny...

    FG's in Action

I want to see you trailer that out to OvEx '16, Howard. Y - I'm curious as to what your clearance is for your transfer? I wonder how it compares with the newer models with aftermarket suspensions and wheels/tires.

    FG's in Action

So does this mean a group buy on a Kubota mini-track hoe as the ultimate trail recovery tool? IN! Seriously, though, the Maxtrax...multiple ones, would be a great help. Maybe combined with that new folding traction mat that was just highlighted.

    FG's in Action

Good stuff Allan! Nice video. With the later model truck, if I had gotten into that kind of stuck, it would have been a winch exercise immediately. With the tires buried to that level and that bentonite, the duonic more than likely wouldn't have even been able to spin the tires. It would have...

    M 416 tongue nightmare

Yikes...also Boehringer, I think made rotating pintles for Unimog S's, might be another source.

Day One...not that this is going to go fast, or anything

One more step...getting the roof rack set up. Took a bit of fitting...ok, about three hours of fitting. Still has some extra bars to go across the front, a curved bar across the front to support the LED light bar, and ladders for both sides, and as protection. Well....this is strange. Can't...

    FUSO FG Seats?

Very interesting, and I wouldn't be surprised if they already have it set up for the Canter. One of the things that's driving me nuts about the National seats is how loose they are. Vibration, and especially a regular cyclic vibration can get the passenger seat moving, creaking, knocking...

    EarthCruiser Overland Vehicles

And then factor in that your older FG is much more capable off road than our newer FG's....just to throw another fly into the ointment. Everything's a compromise. When are you converting that MAZ TEL to a weekend hideaway, mog?

anyone running a trailer brake controller in a recent model FG?

Good to hear the P3 works well. The trailer light draw really isn't that much of an issue, the FG can have the parameters reprogrammed, but more than likely without the reprogramming it'll throw a fault code due to a higher draw.

anyone running a trailer brake controller in a recent model FG?

Hmmm...well, guess that's an answer, of a sort. So, I've gotten a Tekonsha P3 controller and I'll be wiring it up. Any issues I find, I'll post them up here. I've got a 12' dump trailer that I need to haul, more or less weekly. Doing it with the FG would be much better than doing it with the...

Sooo.....what are the thoughts on the Phoenix?

I might have to take a second look at that, then. But aren't the models always with the cabover style bed?
