Sorry, by "in use" I mean being used in the vehicle. How does one get a consistent amp load (also considering ghost loads) as the voltage drops while in use?
I've had 2 AGM banks and both were PINA to determine SOC. I'd go Lithium before I ever went with AGM again. Maybe a smart guage would...
FLA deep cyle need (not AGM) equalization charges which should be done with more caution/ventilation. I see people remove the caps which allows battery acid to cover the top of the batteries. It's better to leave the caps loose but in place.
Hydrogen disperses in air similar to CO. The only risk for small banks is ignition sources around the cells when charging. I've had cells pop (not explode) twice when disconnecitng battery chargers.
I hope there's no quick connect for the stove inside the trailer that will leak (not if, but when) and fill the trailer with propane .
Are you using a propane alarm?
Espar is make some good stuff. I considerd it but then I'd be carrying diesl along with propane. Ended up installing a Propex 2800 that I use down to 32F. Below 32F if runs as secontary heat becsue doesn't heat the FW tanks.
Up to 10 days. We use up to 7lbs a day. I'm not sure how much we can get out of our 100lb on board tank when the temp drops. Last trip the temp dropped to -10F (-23.5C) with 15-25mph winds. I didn't want to be thawing a regulator or heating a tank at 3:00am so I ran off both the 100lb and 50lb...
NL has longer beds too but from what I found so far 2500 Series Bigfoot has 1 1/2" foam vs the NL is 1" for all models.
In winter I carry an extra 50lb cylinder.
Don't want slides on the camper but we have them on the trailer. This is a FLIR of the bottom of the slide from a few years ago. After seeing this we cut pcs of 1/2" close (like packaging foam) cell foam to go here.
We also found that snow turns to ice then freezes to the TPO roof membrane...
