Christmas in Oman with Land Cruiser 150

Generally anybody anywhere will help a fellow traveler for free. I don't remember how many times I've winched somebody out or given them gas, diesel or oil. All I expect is for them to do the same if somebody else needs help. I've never accepted any money from anybody for my help. OK, maybe a...

Japanese heavy trucks with low miles?

They are out there, just keep looking. I bought my FG when it was 6 years old, 18,000 miles. Now it is 22 1/2 years old, 68,000 miles. Barely broken in. I know it isn,t in the GVW you are looking for but there must something out there.

Looking for ideas on a good Fuso jack?

In my opinion, a bottle jack with a 1/4 " steel plate about 16 by 20 inches is the only way to go. Years ago I had to go out and do some tire changes on the side of I 70. A 60 ton crane on a flat bed trailer, the 20 ton jack did want to sink into the pavement a bit. There is a reason we had some...

Looking for ideas on a good Fuso jack?

I learned a few tricks back when I did work in a tire shop. If you can't get the bottle jack under the axle, put a couple boards down and drive the flat up on them, it's always good to have something under the jack as well to spread out the weight. My 1992 has some nice rings welded to the front...

    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

I'm sort of on the fence about EJS. While I would like to see some of the vehicles that show up I wouldn't want to be in a line of Jeeps on a trail. I can handle about 3 other Jeeps on a trail ride. I can't deal with a pack of motorcycle riders either. I am always in a better mood if I ride by...

Now would be a good time to read some of Edward Abbeys books, or reread them as I am doing now.

[YEAR 7!] Quit our jobs, sold our home, gone riding...

Stress has more of an effect on our bodies than we realize. Keep posting your messages, 7 deg F here, 5 inches of snow and the roads are iced up. At least what you write reminds me why I have a motorcycle. Give Neda a hug from me too.

    Roam About with "Big Hank"

A few years ago I was working on a house outside of Kremmling CO. The shortest way home was going through Rockey Mtn. Natl. Park. I had to stop a few times because the entire road was blocked by cars that were stopped to get a picture of an Elk. The other thing that irked me was people riding...

How many 2012+ FG owners here?

Did that come from the Mack dealer in Commerce City? Also, read about how tire shops overtighten the lug nuts. I've had to change tires 3 times on the side of the road. Not real fun when it's over 100 degrees.

How much weight is TOO much weight?

I suppose I should hit the scales with my 1961 CJ3B. Steel full cab and a PTO winch, V6, I expect to be at least 1,000 Lbs less than your Jeeps. It was 2200 lbs when it left the factory

    A New Mexican Thanksgiving

Nice pictures, another area to check out. We used to end up in the Needles area in UT for Thanksgiving. Sometimes 8"s of snow, sometimes in the mid 60's.

    Roam About with "Big Hank"

Steamboat is an interesting area, in the '70's I spent many days hiking In that region. I liked it better before the ski area was develloped. They do seem to have lots of car shows in the summer, I believe they have a few vintage car races too. I think it's the only place I saw a Stutz Bearcat...

Insurance question for those with FG Campers?

Several years ago I wandered into a Camping World in Denver. A guy sitting at a card table tried to sell me some insurance. I told him what I had, he didn't have a clue about FG's.
