I'll take a radical departure from predictable advice and suggest the puchase of a dual sport motorcycle as your "backcountry" / "expedition" / "overland" vehicle.
Low cost, excellent gas mileage, simple platform from which you can learn great maintenance principles and procedures and ALL of...
I haven't read all of the posts here so forgive me if this has already been mentioned.
Don't pass up the opportunity to research the background of your vehicle by using Carfax. Although the service is $40 something for 5 reports, if you have well-defined selection criteria, you can punch in...
jknobler, I'm not going to give you advice on which vehicle to purchase. I'm simply going to congratulate you for having good grammar and punctuation. That means you possess diligence, attention to detail and are probably smarter than the average 17 year old who only knows texting grammar and...
Welcome to the Portal. I concur with your good taste in trucks :D .
I offer up the phrase "all in moderation" on the Tacoma. You're a smart cookie and you're obviously doing your due dilgence in homework. I suspect you'll see (or have already seen) a dominant strategy of tackling the...
I don't have a full-size truck but am currently researching the purchase of one (F250/F350, SuperCab, long bed).
I currently drive a Toyota Tacoma which is exceptionally deft on Rocky Mountain trails. I've been pretty sensitive about the prospect of going from a Toyota Tacoma to a domestic...
Salam and welcome to the Portal.
I'm green with envy....I wish my Arabic language skills were HALF as good as your English language skills. Your attention in English class was obviously keen.
Anyways, nice truck and beautiful photos. Keep up the great work and please stick around. It's...
Congrats on the new weapon! It's a reliable and verstatile bike, IMO, supported by plentiful aftermarket support to really tailor the bike to your riding needs.
Now I'm in the 7.3 PS versus V10 vs. 6.0L quandary.
These threads don't help...they only make the obsession over options more intense.
Guess I'll take a month's worth of sandwhiches and go to the garage since my wife will find out sooner or later I'm in the hunt for another truck.
Might look short but I wish I could have the short bed's wheelbase and turning radius....big upshot, IMO.
Anyways, it doesn't matter for me since I think I'm going to be picking up a SC long bed just like yours.
We'll see how I make out...lining up a fly-n-drive is always a little dicey.
I wanted to register a standalone thread about what a great experience I've had with Four Wheel Camper's customer service.
Between Tom, Stan, Terry and Chicali, I've always received prompt replies to everything from (a) tire-kicking questions to (b) installation of a used camper (which they...
570 lbs wet weight ?!?!
Wow....maybe Jimmy Lewis can wheelie it but I'm no Jimmy Lewis.
I'll stick to Austrian, Italian and Japanese dual sports. I DO wish Triumph the best of luck...I think they're a great company.
I'm busted.......
2006 KTM 950 Adv (with carbs). I was simply amazed at how differently it rode over Engineer Pass down to Ouray the second summer I went back to Colorado. The first year was unloaded with an F650 GS Dakar with a ton of suspension work, etc, etc, etc. The second year was on a...
I could be completely off base but I don't think you'll notice the tires that much (maybe some improved cornering on the street) until you get off the pavement. If you want to run county roads (dirt) at high speeds, you'll definitely want to air down to soften the ride and keep your fillings in.
