    small and works like a charm, i usually carry a lighter or a firesteel etc to light it, perfect for day hike lunches or longer backpacking/canoeing only $40 too, I've had mine for 4 or 5 years now

    Have you been calculating by hand? Also these average mpg calculators will do just that, average the data. So it could be using data from a previous day/trip to average with until you produce more recent data points as you drive along
