After setting the winch on the bumper I realized that I covered the bolt holes on the front with the tube when welded the channel on...time to cut it off and scoot it back 3/4 of an inch....new fabricator problems....?
Yeah they really look well built as far as the winch the control box was like a toy....I have been looking around at solenoids online I may end up buying a warn solenoid and controller to put on it.
Evapo rust is amazing the planetary gears were locked up. I even smacked the them with a plastic hammer a few times and couldn't get any movement....I threw them into a bucket of Evapo-Rust and let them sit 24 hours....holy smokes they were like new...I gave it some run time with my drill in the...
So I was blessed with winch the guy that gave it to me said the guy that gave it to him said it was dunked and started acting sporadic so they took it off and left it... its an engo 9000....I know the very minimum fir a winch is 1.5x the weight of the vehicle to be pulled....so I'm pushing it...
We finally got some snow....the bumpers are stillnon the in my shop and are bare so there was no way I was exposing them to snow and the highway departments brine solution. So I went bumper less..
175k on it now no problems other than a little valve seep...its no a daily though I might put 100 miles on it a month unless I'm going on a trip. As for the bumper I don't understand the question but I trimmed the body behind the rear wheels.
That would be the plan...I really never plan on going over 35s so the tire and gear combo would work good. Supposedly this SAS is the easiest SAS the person I talked to about it has ever done and he said he has done 6 or 7 on other vehicles.
So I think I have a plan with the front end. I'm going to keep it 1/2 ton 6 lug, Dana 44 driver drop.....I've been doing some research and found a Tahoe that has a 94-01 dodge 1500 front axle (5 lug I know), what's cool about this axle is that its the correct side diff, correct width, the Chevy...
Also I have some maintenance to do...front output on t case is leakingn driver side cv is slinging greasen both front axle seals are leaking (it's not been long ago I redid all of that), oil pressure sending unit is shot pegged at 80 on dash and 135 on my torque app.. trail rides beat this thin up.
