    Huge Hino 6x6 platform

And then you need to pull the cab off your Fuso, mount it on the back of the Hino, and rename it the FuNo. And add another axle in the front, because you know you want an 8x8, and that Tatra is on the other coast. We could tow the frame back, but put a flatbed on it and call it a homebuilt...

    Huge Hino 6x6 platform

Yeah, I've been watching it too. Price would have to come down quite a bit more, then it's got a couple of years to go to meet the 25 year rule, and it's a bit lightweight for RV use. Someone could have lots of fun with it though! I think Mog should buy it, yep, I do.

To keep my Suburban or not??? that is the question

As has been said, get heavier axles under there with proper gearing, do some reinforcing, and whatever else you want. Then refuse to carry the items in your suburban that your buddies can't fit into their Cruisers....ahahahahahahh sweet revenge. Keep the burb.:coffee:

    Rokon motorcyles

Dammit, I've gotta pay more attention. I would have liked to have made that AZ run too, closer than the other romps. Sigh.

    Rokon Two Wheel Drive

I've had my '73 trailbreaker for a while now, and there are a few other members, including one guy here (he'll probably pop up sooner or later) with some really trick stuff. Anyway, they have their place, and I've had lots of desert fun on it. Like Stump says, there's actually a great network...

Camper Shells: your experiences and suggestions

Huh...was it flood damaged or something? Even though I have a hard time smelling concentrations of the stuff, try several applications of Febreze. They also make a heavy duty version for sports equipment, that might help you out too. I just pulled the trigger myself in preparation for an...

Camper Shells: your experiences and suggestions

Tagged....I've had a Vista shell on my old Toyota for quite a few years. Just the basic model, but never had any problems. Carried a sea kayak and a surf ski, along with bike racks on top too. No cracking, and never had any issues with the "C-clamp" attachments.

    Ok, so there's Callen and A.R.E. ...........

Not a stupid idea at all. I'll give them a call, but the few manufacturers that I've called in the past haven't liked the idea of selling used products. Worth a try though. Thanks.

    Ok, so there's Callen and A.R.E. ...........

LOL...see, they are out there! Ya scooped me! Yep, that's pretty much what I'm looking for, and like you say, we're looking at the same requirements. I'm thinking it's going to be the patience option. They're out there, just not common. Oh, and Bella - yep, I've seen that one on San Diego CL...

    Ok, so there's Callen and A.R.E. ...........

Well, I see Callens on CL all the time too - but a high one, for a full size, double rear doors and rack? Nope. I've also done, and continue to do the crazedlist, but Callen seems to be pretty SanDiegoCentric. I'm sure I'll find one, eventually. Thanks for the offer on the welder, but I'm...

    Ok, so there's Callen and A.R.E. ...........

Mythical.:sombrero: Got pics? I can't recall ever seeing a pop up on a Callen, but yeah, that might be ideal. Then again, Callen will do what the customer wants, within reason, just flip that wallet open. OTOH, durability would suffer a bit, likewise lifespan. Ah, decisions decisions. And...

    Ok, so there's Callen and A.R.E. ...........

What are these "socks" you speak of? I'm actually willing to deal with the height issues. Pop up is nice, but what about durability and lifespan? I was thinking that the steel framed, aluminum skinned systems would be the highest durability. Especially with height issues. Something that can...

    Ok, so there's Callen and A.R.E. ...........

Both of which are A: pricy as heck, and B: frikkin' impossible to find used in the models I'm interested in. Soooooooo...are there any other manufacturers that make similiar campers or shells? I'm actually looking for a relatively high shell, or a camper design that gives the owner the...

    Fuel Mileage..

Subbins that's in my sig gets 11 mpg (towing 10k or so), 15-17mpg regular driving, tops of right around 21mpg babying it on the interstate. '99 F350 w/7.3 and AT, bone stock, around 16 in normal daily driving. Still haven't taken it on any long trips, but I'm betting it'll match the...

    Advice on buying a Ford

I went down the same road you're looking at, Beachboyy. I was looking for a late '99 - '03 F250/F350 with a 7.3. AT or manual, had to be 4x4, crew cab, long bed - and no mods. No chips, no lifts, no bigger tires, less than 150k miles, etc. Took me a bit over three months and literally hundreds...
