    Ancor vs. Almo cable?

Aw, no one? Well, I'll post a reply when Almo gets back to me on it.

    Custom Netbook Topo GPS system

Very cool idea, and well executed. I like the headliner mount. Quick question: how much did this run you? I'm looking at doing one of the EEE pc's, but primarily for Ham digital comms, and I was going to dedicate a Lowrance GPS for the mapping/tracking stuff. Price is always important...

    Ancor vs. Almo cable?

Both are BC5W2 cables, but the Almo is half the price of the Ancor? I'm finding (locally) 2/0 Ancor at 11.99/ft, and the Almo is 6.05/ft. Both made in USA, both BC5W2 standard - the one thing the Almo doesn't say on the sheathe is "diesel resistant" etc. Ancor does. Both are ABYC compliant...

    non-insulated terminal crimpers?

Good leads all, folks. I'm checking on them now. Thanks! The snap-on actually looks decent. I was trying to find the ratcheting style since I really like the repeatability, and the amount of crimp has already been figured out. I want to do this right the first time, and not have to worry about it.

    non-insulated terminal crimpers?

Anyone found a good set of the ratchet style for uninsulated terminals? I'm trying to do multiple Hella relays, and I'm working with a relay block that uses the uninsulated terminals. I can do them with the insulated crimpers I've got, but it's a pain...there's got to be a ratchet style...

    1991 Cummins Suburban

Check with FASS or Geno's Garage or Quad4x4. I think I've seen various versions around and about. There's the Vulcan fuel tube - as to sending units, stock always seems to work pretty well for me. Still using the stocker in mine.

Ok wiring guru's....crosslinked marine grade wire?

Have you got a direct link, or an item number? I'm coming up with exactly nothing listed for wire on their site. Wire wheels, wire brushes, wire terminals, shrink tubing, etc.....but no wire or cable.

Ok wiring guru's....crosslinked marine grade wire?

Can I hedge the bet by saying I'm living in a coastal area :D Yep, there's a element of overkill in this, but at the same time I've gone through one or two vehicle fires caused by electricals, and I'd rather not do that again. Since I'm going to be doing wiring, I'm just looking for the highest...

Ok wiring guru's....crosslinked marine grade wire?

Thanks Charlie, I'll give them a shout. The other vendors I've tried don't carry it, DelCity, Allied, etc.

Ok wiring guru's....crosslinked marine grade wire?

Hi Spence - the benefit is crosslinked wire is much more abrasion and heat resistant than the standard PVC insulation. It's smoother and easier to pull, comes in various insulation thicknesses. It comes in SXL, GXL, and TXL grades (insulation thicknesses). Temp rating is -51 to +125c. It's...

Ok wiring guru's....crosslinked marine grade wire?

I can easily find the marine grade wire, and I can easily find crosslinked wire, but I can't find marine grade with crosslinked insulation, preferably SXL grade. Thoughts? Between the two, if I can't find the combined article, I'm thinking I'll just go with the SXL wire, and use proper...

    Huge Hino 6x6 platform

And another free bump from me...that's a great looking rig, and would be an awesome base for someone willing to put some time in. I think mog needs it. Seriously, if I had the cash, I'd be flying up to look at it this week. I wonder how hard it would be to register and get legal here in the U.S.?

    Fuse block/relay suppliers?

THATSALEXUS?...I don't suppose you can comment on the Dill bulkhead connectors, can you? I'm looking at the sealed units, 28 pin or so... The more I look at the Dill, the more I like what they're capable of. I just threw an email out to them, asking if they had any more sealed units. Guess I...

    bed mounted spare

For certain activities they're handy, but bed mounted spares tend to suck up lots of territory in my experience. I try not to carry the spares in the bed, or on the roof

    Fuse block/relay suppliers?

Thanks very much for the links folks, I'm checking on them. I also found some from Painless - dunno how I missed them. One thing that is very interesting, and something I really like about the Painless blocks, are that you can get them in a "weather resistant" format. I'm specifically looking at...

    Fuse block/relay suppliers?

Well, I see slomatt's DIY project to combine a fuse block with relays - but other than scrounging in the junkyard, does anyone know of something like the Blue Seas fuse block that actually has attachment points for relays? Actually, I'm thinking more of something like an OEM system where you...

    Hitch Mounted Cargo Basket/Rack

The rack I use has been plenty helpful. Damned heavy, but I can carry a bike, desert fireplace, firewood, fuel, cooler, and various other things on it. Not to mention once it's unloaded, it becomes a perfect place to have the stove and cooler. I run additional magmount lights on it though, since...

    1991 Cummins Suburban

I'll second the advice on spring packs, and doing it custom. I've gone with National Springs on mine, front axle load is 3890 by itself. The old off the shelf lift springs were very compliant, but sagged on the DS, plus didn't have a high enough rate for my tastes. Getting them custom made made...
