Regardless of who the "manufacturer's representative" actually was, JLR should respond publicly. They should address the malfunction and the origins and ethics of the censorship request.

    New Defender News

This is an alarming malfunction. More alarming is the request by the "manufacturer's representative" not to publicize, a request that prioritizes sales over customers' lives.

    Italian Option

I didn't say there's anything wrong with frame flex.

Small cross-over SUV functional for adventuring?

For what it's worth... I have a 2013 Crosstrek with about 85k miles. I have only once used it for multi-day remote dirt touring, in Baja. While its payload exceeds that of a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the Crosstrek's build is in my opinion not robust enough for loaded dirt touring. Despite its...

    INEOS Grenadier

I sure do like it. It's nice to see them in real life rather than just computer renderings. The front and rear bash plates appear to be designed to be the first points of contact for approach and departure angles. Somehow I'd earlier missed the recessed load bars above the two rear windows...

    EVs with solar

Well, using your math, I'd sooner tote a few 6kw wind turbines and make two or three hundred miles of range on breezy afternoons. But before you trouble yourself with more math, remember that I used the word "imagine," which speaks to the possibilities of future, not current, tech and...

All I hear while watching that video about designing the Sprockets Defender is this.

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

Land Rover yesterday lost its asinine appeal to trademark the original Defender design. First they abandon Defender's design heritage, then try to block others from making anything similar. How ironic that the fiercest enemy of Defender's design heritage is Land Rover itself...

Does this mean that the 110 would be available with coils in the U.S.?

    EVs with solar

An interesting little video about using solar to power EVs. Imagine an electric touring rig that can recharge itself after two or three days camped at the beach in Mexico.

    It's Bronc o clock

The availability of the Ursa Minor pop top from the dealership is really fantastic. It's almost as if Ford reads the forums. "Ursa Minor works with Ford dealerships nationwide, allowing the B30 to be included with vehicle purchase and financing."...

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

I thought this was pretty dead-on, especially, with off-road capability a given, the focus on payload and range. The factory availability of the Ursa Minor pop-top for Bronco is fantastic.

Amen. Land Cruiser gentrification is a tragedy, but I'm skeptical that Toyota will change course.

Curious: What's your Jeep's weight loaded with water, fuel, gear and the Ursa Minor? Are you over payload?

It is, though my point is that this sort of technology, for my purposes, is unwanted in the first place. It seems like, if such an update were available, the dealer would have corrected the problem. I'll be interested to see how it plays out. On that note, I still love this owner's...

    New Defender Rage/Hate Thread

Completely agree. This is evidenced in the U.S. by years of off-the-charts Wrangler sales and now unbridled enthusiasm over the new Bronco and to a lesser degree Grenadier. I hope others, most notably Toyota, get in the game.

This sort of glitchy tech is precisely what I don't want on a touring vehicle. It is the opposite of simplicity; needless, glitchy expense.
