    Hard side decisions

Good choice. Honestly you can’t go wrong with a Supertramp. They make a very good and robust camper. I don’t think you can do a king size bed in the LT because of where the lift actuators are located. Personally after having a hard side camper it would be difficult for me to go with a...

    Hard side decisions

Which camper did you decide to go with after going to the show? Personally I’m not a fan of the Alaskan campers. The interiors look like they were built in the 70’s and looks like they have stayed that way. There also isn’t much sitting space in the smaller model either.

    Hard side decisions

There's no way of me to know every manufacturers specific specs, materials and methods. That's not the argument here. My comment was more addressed to the OP who had concerns about composite camper builders who use panels, extrusions and adhesives versus single or two piece fiberglass campers...

    Hard side decisions

I wouldn’t be worried about the shell and construction methods. If you look around, pretty much all the composite campers are built the same way. Composite panels joined at the edges with extrusion and adhesives. OEV, Total Composites, Cascadia Composites, Lemker Overland, Globetrekker etc...

    Hard side decisions

Do you know what the payload is on the Ram 2500 Megacab? Depending on payload that may answer your slide in vs flatbed discussion. Typically a flatbed camper weights a few hundred pounds more than a slide in. I've been in a few Supertramp campers before and they are top notch. I love how...

Is GM not the best platform for a overland build?

Here's why I wouldn't buy one. Look at the LCA and where the bumpstops are. It looks like the truck has like 1" of uptravel before it hits the bump. I'd really be curious how an AEV Sierra HD does on an RTI test. https://expeditionportal.com/overland-news-gmc-unleashes-the-sierra-hd-at4x-aev/

Black Series HQ Tips, Tricks, and Learning.....

Update from Black Series CEO. I wonder if there are any campers that are unspoken for in the lot :D Those squatters are living the luxury camper life!!!

Black Series HQ Tips, Tricks, and Learning.....

Interesting development. Looks like Black Series dumped a bunch of trailers on an empty lot only to have squatters move in. They certainly got a steal!!! :D

Supertramp Flagship LT pop-up slide-in pickup camper

Bowen can also make a lower deck flatbed as well. It omits the rear drawer and probably drops it another 2-3" from their regular flatbed. You just have to ask them for that one specifically. That's how I requested mine to reduce the amount of cab gap. It makes it looks a heck of a lot better...

    New Supertramp Hardtop Camper

I love windows and my camper has plenty of them. But I also don’t need 360 degree view with the largest windows possible. What I’ve found in my total composite camper is that all of the condensation and heat transfer is coming from the aluminum frame of the tern overland windows. The camper...

    New Supertramp Hardtop Camper

I don’t think a few larger cabinets would be too much weight especially since it’s geared towards 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. Supertramps MO isn’t really about keeping price down. They definitely appeal to a more premium full featured camper market as reflected by component choice and price. Again...

    Outpost Truck Campers

I think they did a fantastic job with high quality components, features you need/don't, all at a great price point. It's 100x better than anything Scout can dream up of and it's $30K cheaper than an ST HT. It's hard to argue with the Outpost form a price/features standpoint. I just don't...

    New Supertramp Hardtop Camper

However to keep that in perspective, an HT plus Bowen Camper bed is at the very least an $88K endeavor base price. I think the harder thing to replicate is the Bowen camper bed. To play devils advocate you can get an Outpost 6.5 camper + Bowen Camper bed for $58K base. Not cheap either but...

    Outpost Truck Campers

The Outpost does not have a heater but from what I heard they were looking into it. Perhaps the ‘25 models will have an option for it.

    Outpost Truck Campers

IRCC you have an Outpost on order? Will you get the 24 or wait to get a 25 model? One thing I wonder about is the insulation and R-Value performance of the Lemker panels. XPS (TC) has higher insulation value than PET (Lemker) foam. Then if they’re going from a 2” thick panel to 1.25”...

Supertramp Flagship HT Hard-sided Slide-in Pickup Camper

I think once you’ve owned a hard top it’s hard (no pun intended) to go back to a soft side. There’s so much ease and convenience in owning a hard sided camper. The only type of soft side I’d want to own is one with an auto lifting top like the LT. I really like the HT and I’d consider if I...

Supertramp Flagship HT Hard-sided Slide-in Pickup Camper

Ah gotcha. I missed that part.

Supertramp Flagship HT Hard-sided Slide-in Pickup Camper

So if I’m reading this correctly the standard unit does not come with a Truma combi heater? I believe the pop-top has it standard. While it’s a hard side and has better insulation values my assumption is that everyone will want a heater to extend it into a 4 season camper. Otherwise as it is...

Post Pics of Your Hard Side Camper!

Picked up our TC camper built by BEAR Adventure Vehicles about a month ago. We love it so far. It's crazy how having a dedicated camper makes you just get out more. Owned it for a month and we've used it every weekend to ski camp except for the one we were out of town.

    ArcticFox Expedition Vehicle for Sale

What the heck is an ArcticFox Expedition Vehicle? No seriously, what is it? Is that a moniker that you gave the truck or is this an actual production line vehicle that you build? I think it’s confusing to buyers to call it something other than what it is, a 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Just...
