I use wax oil on my vehicles. Place the vehicle up on a lift and spray with an air gun. Easy to get into all the frame holes and suspension components. Takes about an hour or so and does a great job of keeping the nasty salt water off.
I'm sure there are local companies that do oil spraying if...
Wider tires are much better for flotation (deep snow, mud or sand) for everything else a narrower tire provides a higher contact pressure (same vehicle weight, less surface area). This will provide more traction.
Looks wise its up to the user, but I don't like the verly wide tire look. Run...
Its wax oil, so its more viscous than motor oil. It flows at room temperature but not quickly.
To apply just put into a paint style sprayer (different nozzle) and use an air compressor to spray out the end. Quite simple really. As long as you let it sit for awhile it doesn't drip too bad. But...
Not too much new with the Xterra. Thanksgiving day weekend here in Canada so its lots of turkey, beer and pumpkin stuff.
I did oil spray my truck yesterday afternoon at the in-laws, have to start fighting that nasty salt early. Its actually a pretty easy job, just cover everything metal. Pretty...
awesome! this is exactly how I would want mine spec'd out.
I was just in Vegas this past weekend, every time I looked out my hotel window I could see the mountains calling me, jealous of your surroundings.
Welcome!
Sitting in the Vegas airport as I type this. Unfortunately I only got to look at the mountains from my hotel room and wish I had my truck. Hoping they have everything sorted down here before you head out!
I too would be interested. There is a large area under the truck where a larger tank would fit, 75 L is way too small for me. 100 L plus would be better.
Sounds and looks like a great trip, As a bit of a closet history buff I always enjoy hearing about new peoples places and things from the past...especially half a continent away.
Im happy with my choice as I don't see many (hardly any) tough trails where a lot of rock protection would have helped me. All that metal up front and underneath is heavy, and makes bad gas mileage worse. Some folks do a lot tougher driving with theirs, and would see the opposite point to...
Thank you, I appreciate the compliments. Its hard to take a step back and decipher what's necessary and not, for my needs I'd like to think I have done well with this build so far.
