How young is to young to start kids camping?

One of my early memories when I was probably only 4 years old was of our return from some camping destination. I don't remember where we went, but the distinct memory was me telling my family that I immediately wanted to go out on another vacation, and we were only a couple miles out from...

Both of the above are still available, new link for the #1304 one: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/rvs/3226064497.html . 32' 4x4 Motorhome

Ok, evened up the approach & departure angles...... but all this does is bring up the problem of getting high centered over a taller than average railroad grade, or bump of similar description.

Thanks! BTW, a prior "Input from Xterra owners" Expo thread I'd bookmarked from 2009 here.

We are looking at getting a Xterra for an expo vehicle General input wanted.

Pretty, by way of example: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/3193281417.html Still kicking around the idea of a 1st gen for myself, bookmarked this thread for future reference. This price a bit high or about right?

eBay: 1972 Dodge Power Wagon Factory Roxor 4X4 Off Road Motor Home

Happens to Chalets also. Serial #0023 languished for a couple of years at Craigslist ads where it seemed hard to give away for $3800, now it sits in a showroom a bit more polished up than before with some repaint work that I can't readily spot, for just under 20 grand. That's only one of several...

    wow wow

Thank heavens somebody finally did at least something about the aerodynamics of the G-wagen. Now, if only the guy had also chopped the top a bit, curved out the windsheild, lowered it a bit, and did something about the back end....... . . . . . Oh, wait........

Another "green" gadget- "BioLite" looks interesting!!

For more efficient wood burning, wouldn't a small hand-crank air blower work wonders and cost less? That's what I keep thinking every summer when I do my vacation campfires. A bit more air through such a device would certainly beat my "wolf-huffing-'n-puffing-to-blow-the-house-down" impression...

K5 Blazer with Chalet Popup - Really Neat Expedition Vehicle.

The market as it is now is a buyer's market, as the lousy economy forces many to sell a classic rare vehicle that is otherwise sitting around not paying the rent. My Google map shows around 50 out therre, but I wish I could keep better track of which were sold. Much better market back east for...

K5 Blazer with Chalet Popup - Really Neat Expedition Vehicle.

It's serial #1004, built 10/76 and the owner is quite adamant that the camper and Blazer stay together. Advantage of this particular one is that at least the camper wiring harness has been altered so that it is a plug-in to the truck and the seller is quite knowledgeable on how to put it back...

    CL find - 4-Wheel Campers brand Pop-up camper for a K5 Blazer

Also not affiliated, but I run across these when looking for Chalets. This one is something other than the standard FourWheel brand camper, in Minneapolis: http://minnesota.findanyrv.com/recreational-vehicles/shortboxblazer-pop-up-camper.html

    1976 Chevrolet Blazer Chalet (Utah)

Though I've looked through my computer files on these, I can't find the spiffy drawing I created of all the interior floor area dimensions when I temporarily removed my closet. It's around somewhere.... Anyway, consider how these camper units overhang out back by about two feet, and then add...

    1976 Chevrolet Blazer Chalet (Utah)

This one is serial # 0158, built in 6/76, owned by one of the guys in our Yahoo Chalet owners forum. He rescued it from a junkyard in Pocatello Idaho a few years ago. If you click on the photo link in my old post here you can see what it looked like back then. As he notes in his ad, it has rust...

    Blazer Chinook Chalet: OR

If you happen to be in the Denver area, I've heard from a couple of guys that there one in the Aurora U-Pull &-Pay, but nobody has confirmed if it is still there. Also, I never heard if a camper unit-only like the one in the above eBay listing was sold in Ft Collins, or if it is still available...

    Blazer Chalet on eBay

I'm trying to track every one still in existence. Could be one I know of, or it may be yet another 'new' one to add to my mega-spreadsheet. PM sent for more details.

    Blazer Chalet on eBay

There's a few in Georgia I know of. Serial #0023 was for sale in Atlanta a few months ago, and the new owner was thinking of putting it out for sale. Last I heard, there was also a '77 GMC Jimmy Casa Grande for sale in Hephzibah (near Augusta). Haven't been able to track a couple others there...

Solar car around the world - hit the US shore this week!

Yes, which goes back to my original point about my ol' 1800lb-ish Plymouth Champ. Pure physics will dominate the ideal weight of the car in relation to reasonable crash survival requirements under real world driving conditions where other people are likely to be driving heavier vehicles. This...

Solar car around the world - hit the US shore this week!

... with buses and all delivery trucks banished to other roadways... No problem. Plus all of these would be two-seaters at most.
