Camp Chef Expedition 2X 2 Burner Camp Stove at Costco

I bought the unit at Costco last year along with cast iron griddle and BBQ box. Great units, I take it along in the 32' MoJo. Too big, bulky, and heavy for the MDR...YMMV. :sombrero:

Let me see your "expedition" F250!

Never mind...just saw your buildup thread. Very nice! :sombrero:

Let me see your "expedition" F250!

Sure is pretty. How does that camper shell hold up offroad? Does it have any sort of metal frame or is it wood? :sombrero: (And yes, the Bronson reference is applicable here.)

What kinda highway MPG's you getting with your full sized rig?

Just drove an '08 GMC 3/4-ton Duramax down and back to San Felipe, Baja. Bed was loaded with furnishings and tools for a casita project...hard tonneau cap on the truck. Best was about 18.5. :sombrero:

    Good-Bye Jeep Hello Ram

Same trade story, but my Jeep was a '93 Wrangler. Love the Dodge...I've never regretted the trade. :sombrero:

    What shocks to get?

Just replaced my Rancho 9000s with Bilstein 5100s...mas mejor! But I will say, I had Monroe Magnums on before the Ranchos and I liked them, also. :sombrero:

Load range "D" tires for Super Duty?

With the camper issue I think the load range "E" is called for. :sombrero:

    Carb VS EFI

I ran VW campers for years so you know my answer is...EFI, all the way. In fact, my current bike runs EFI...Yamaha WR250R. Turn the key, press the button (without choke or pump priming) and voila! I don't miss fiddling with automatic chokes on cars, etc. Got so fed up with some that I converted...

Nice job on the Generation clarification Saiyan66. And your comparison between the 5.2 and 5.9 is right on. :sombrero:

    thinking about a dodge ram

I agree with you fligght2k5...they never told me that it was shift on the fly into 4lo and I never tried doing that. But the Dodge Boys did indicate to me that shifting into 4hi at highway speeds was problematic in the long run despite advertising to the contrary. As for shifting into 4lo, I...

Best overall tire suited for Overlanding/Expo?

I'm running the Nitto Terra Grappler in 285/75R16E. Quiet, grippy, but heavy. I can really tell a weight difference on my truck so I would imagine you would on your Jeep. Of course, you may not want LR-E. :sombrero:

    thinking about a dodge ram

I own and drive a '96 1/2-ton. Here are my experiences: *The 5.9 is a strong mill, with improved numbers beginning in '98. I have 225k miles on the odometer with regular 3k mile oil changes *The transmission is said to be a problem. Again, I have 225k miles on the original (did replace the...

    Jumper start packs

I have a Craftsman model. It also has a small compressor, air pump for a mattress, light, USB ports, and a small inverter. I use it all the time. The compressor (with gauge) works great for motorcycle tires. I carry it with me on all trips. :sombrero:

Lets see some "set up" Regular Camper shells

Good job Walker. Simple, strong, functional. Did you use any biscuits or just butt joints with glue and screws? :sombrero:

DIESEL 2012 Power Wagon - NOT

Yup...still unobtanium. I once spoke with a Dodge engineer who was working on Ram trucks. He told me that it would have to be a different diesel...still Cummins, perhaps...but a different physical size. They are worried about too much weight and that the Cummins sits too low for a "dedicated"...

What Dodge pickup should I buy?

Dakota = no way. 3rd gen 1500 = maybe. My 2nd gen can tow that, but I don't like to. My vote would be the 3rd gen 2500...wait for it...GAS version, not the diesel. I think my father-in-law's '95 Cummins is a great engine, but here in Cali you now pay a premium for diesel. He just had some...

    1996 Dodge ram build...

I had 4.10s (one end is actually a 4.11) installed when I mounted the 285/75R16 (33 inch equivalent) tires. The original 3.53 gears are there for CAFE standards and I didn't like the loss of the low end. The 4.10s are the gears the truck needed for that size tire and it runs great with this...
