Sadly, estimate and real world are soooo much different. My Northstar TC800 camper has a dry weight listed on the tag but in weighing it on the truck (I have weighed it truck unloaded and with camper), I can tell you the camper is about 400 lbs heavier than they claim.
Nice looking rig!!
Curious, have you ever weighed the rig loaded up, ready to go? What's the GVWR? Curious as I have been looking at this camper for my 2000 Ram 2500, which has a GVWR of 8800 lbs. Your truck is of that same era, so curious about this.
Having pulled the cab off a frame in the past, get some car dollies and remove the wheels. Put the dollies under the rotors/drums to slide it out from under the cab. This way you don't need to have the cab as high off the ground, to slide the frame out from under. Good luck!
Unless you are planning to have your current computer retuned or run an aftermarket computer, anything you put in that is not the same, is likely going to create problems. These can all be addressed but it's not going to be a drop in and go situation, like the old school carbureted engine days...
Nice.
That is the one thing I like about the 2000/2001 models. The front axle uses slip on rotors and dual piston calipers with removal mounting brackets. You can bolt on the larger diameter 3rd gen rotors (dual piston calipers are the same) and just change out the mounting brackets. All...
My thought would be on top of the shelf the oven sits on. This should help radiate any heat upwards and should prevent any hot spots on the wood shelf as it will act as a heat sink to a degree.
Very cool. I have a 2000 Ram 2500 and really wish I could replace the seats but 98-01 Dodge put the seat belts into the seats, as there is no "B" pillar due to the opening rear doors. I do like having the rear doors to access the back seat, unlike my old '97. :)
I don't see an issue. Heat rises so you're likely not going to get a ton of downward heat transfer. If you have an air gap and reflectix between the two, it is not likely to create any issues. If you wanted to (and can), you could put a thin wood shelf with a thin aluminum sheet on top of it...
That is very weird for a shock to break. Typically that is due to reaching the mechanical limits of the shock (topping or bottoming out). I have run Bilstein's in 17 different vehicles and have never broken one, nor have I broken a shock in any of the 59 vehicles I have owned.
That totally sucks! It's one thing to have a part go bad, as even new stuff can be bad but to have that many wiring issues from the production side, very sad to hear.
Back in the beginning of days of FiTech, I got their very first GoStreet EFI injection system. After almost 8 years... it is...
Not much to update but I did swap out the fog lights. I installed the Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro fog lights but found they were way too bright for normal driving use. Back roads with no other traffic, they were awesome but daily, around town/traffic use, they were just blinding. Decided to swap...
If cost is no concern, I would talk to the folks at Dynatrac and have them build you a custom axle. I believe this is what EarthCruiser is using for their Isuzu platform.

Wow, that sucks. I have had mine a few years but haven't used it nearly as much as my project vehicle is way behind. I have used it in my more "daily" 4WD vehicles. I found out after the first of the year, they stopped selling the backup cameras. I happened to find two of them (forum and FB...
