For full disclosure, I moved the truck tonight from the driveway and on the south facing side (side away from the house), I saw this starting. This is the crappy paint issues that Dodge and GM had during the '90's. This only occurred since Thanksgiving as when we were out on our last trip, the...
I have gotten a number of folks asking for pics of the interior. I guess I really never had any. Took a few before it got dark. Will get more this weekend. Dash is in great shape, which is normally cracked on this vintage. It has been under a dash mat from day one. It is very dusty under...
No, '97 was the last year before they added the access doors. At the same time, without the doors, there are no rattles, squeaks or leaks that I have talked with others having. Not a big deal on the road but do 50 miles of washboard roads and you'll understand.
Hello all, after much though I am going to sell our turn key overland rig. This has been a great rig for the last 5 years. It has never let us down, gone everywhere we have wanted to go and comfortable for hundreds of miles at a time. This is a turn key, add your food, clothing and bedding...
Thanks all for the compliments. I totally love the steps. It would have been nice to find an off the shelf solution but nothing really did what I wanted. There has been a lot of other projects I have wanted to do but in the years that I have been using it, many of my ideas just haven't been...
You could always apply some fiberglass cloth and resin to make them waterproof and add some strength to them. Do that and likley would never have to build another set as they would not delaminate, warp or rot due to any water leaks.
The biggest thing I could think that would be a problem is the thermo conductivity of aluminum, especially the one at the bed end. Since these are right against the canvas, cold and hot temps could cause the aluminum to become very cold or hot and could create condensation due to the thermal...
New Steps Built
New Steps
So recently I have been working on a new project that I have been thinking about for a long time. I wanted to have a set of steps that were attached to the truck and not rely on a small step stool on the ground. I just never got the details worked out until I saw a...
Well... it still sits in my garage. I never completed this project. Since space has been tight, one of my ideas was to split this unit and mount the compressor in the front pass. corner of the bed, which is dead space with the camper on. I have some larger tanks I picked up from another...
No worries, I know you did not post it but I wanted to try to clarify for others, since most of them have not owned one. Wish I had the space for this as I would snap it up. Great deal for someone!
Having had an M1010 and being active in the CVCC group for a while, this is NOT an M10xx vehicle. All of them were single wheel setups, not rear dually. The interior and exterior of the box is configured like a comerical ambulance and does not reflect any M10xx series I have seen listed.
I have to agree, time to get a lawer involved. If you have been able to document this problem and the manufacturer will not correct as part of their warranty, it will have to become a legal issue to resolve. Good luck.
