    Kootenay's Pro4X Frontier

I also have the arb rear bumper. As Koot did, i just unplugged the sensors. i think the camera is more handy anyways. I like the bumper 90%, i don't like the vertical metal piece and how far down the hitch is. It does sit a bit higher up than stock, but i still hit mine frequently and even...

    Kootenay's Pro4X Frontier

I can agree with the ground clearance observation. I've noticed teh same thing in a recent trip i took, my friend has a 2nd gen taco. our body sits much lower below the doors, so our sliders sit lower as well. My front skid plate is also lower, but then again, that's why i added the armor...

    The 255/85R16 Tire Official List

55# for the 255/85, not terrible. 255/80 is showing 57#.

Any Intel on the new BFGATKO2 DT heavy duty?

I was wondering the same thing too, as tirerack lists them and denotes that they won't have the snowflake symbol. Makes sense now.

Running the truck in idle? for power

I believe Ford states each hour of idling is roughly equivalent to 25miles. So that kinda gives you an idea. Going on a trip and have to idle your truck for a few hours total over the whole trip? not that big of a deal. Idling for hours a day? Not the best for it. Either way, the engine...

Upgrading to clutch fan, brand recommendations?

Which inline 6? The 300 came with a clutch fan in later iterations I believe, I'd think you could use one of those. Id think any decent aftermarket brand will be fine. They are fairly simple.

Not sure where to post this...SO! buying a new truck. Thoughts?

I went through this dilemma earlier this year and went with the Nissan. #1 limiting factor for me was I wanted a manual transmission. That knocked it down to a Tacoma and Frontier. Sticker on the two are fairly close, but actual paying price is way different. I ended up with a leftover '17...

Durango has died. The Pilot is moving up. Can it take it?

You'll be fine. The only thing I'd be concerned about are trans temps. Get you an OBDII reader to monitor trans temps, add a larger air to cooler if they keep getting too warm, keep the trans locked into 1st or 2nd gear when in the sand and such, and roll with it. Don't be afraid to lock that...

Extremely rough ride 5100 Bistein struts on my 3” lifted Gen 2 Xterra. Help please.

I've never had a good experience with teh 5100s. I had them on a JK Wrangler and didn't like them and they aren't well reviewed on the Jeep forums. What springs are you using? Or did you just get the kit that cranks down the stock springs for the lift?

07BlackSpecV's Junior Overland 2008 Nissan Xterra

I see when you received your rear leaf kit they had the springs to make it an "HD" kit separate and you installed them. I kinda did the same on my frontier, I ran the medium setup for a while and just added the other leaf to help with the sag. That being said, the yellow silencer pads weren't...

    4WD Action On Youtube

Great series. I watch them all. Great to see guys out wheeling all sort of rigs from the newest and most built Land Cruisers to well used older Nissans and even the little Dmax with no lockers. Graham Cahill (owner of the "Shorty" and Dmax) has his own photography biz too. ******** goes wrong...

    Traveling with a dog

I've traveled with my pup extensively. I don't always enjoy it and have started leaving him with a sitter which seems to make him and i happier. Here's what i've done: -I bring a 5' leash to walk him/tie him up when needed. -He is trained to stay close, so i usually leave him unteathered. He...

    KC Hilites Cibie E-code clone.

I ran the Cibies with the integrated city lights and high wattage halogen bulbs on both of my JKs. They work great for what they are. No halogen will get the lighting output of HIDs, but I like the pattern much more than most of the LED offerings.

Black Bear Pass in a 4Runner?

Its no problem if you use some common sense. I planned to take mine through, but I got rid of it for a Nissan Frontier which will go through this year. I took a 2dr jk through a few years ago with an 80 series behind. no issues at all.

    255/85R16 ST/Maxx dilemma

i had 255/75 17s Maxx STs on a 4runner for about 15k miles. They wore very well. I've been debating whether to go with those in 255/85 for the frontier... as noted, wished KO2s were available. As well as anything other than e-rated...

    CFX-35W

i have a cfx40. Its ran the battery down in a ford edge (with a flaky battery) in about a day and a half sitting outside in ~100F georgia heat. In a 4runner and frontier, both have sustained about 2 days with no issues. i have no problems leaving it for 24-36 house on the engine battery.

Icon stage one or stage two?

I had a bastardized stage 2 kit on my 4R. I really liked it. As tacollie notes, i ran the SPC upper control arms. Provide more travel and allow the front to get into alignment while providing more travel. What part of Florida are you in? I have set of Icon 3" overland rear springs that will...
