My rear doors are floppy and have half the latches too. If they sealed better, it might be less critical to move that volume of air. With two dirtbikes inside the van, and no divider, it helps control the fumes too.
Good to hear. I think the semi-high fiberglass top combined with the pop top is brilliant. Having room to stand with the top in the down position, plus being able to raise it for a big bedroom is awesome.
It's excellent, I use it a lot. I have 245/75 R16 tires that I have Trailhead Deflators set to 25 psi. My general rule is if I'm going more than a few miles off pavement I'm going to air down. When in Baja I'll air back up to 50 in the front and 60 in the rear because of all the potholes...
When I went to the Baja 1000 last year, one of the guys there had an aluminum floor jack from Harbor Freight with a cool aluminum skid plate on it so it would work in the dirt. I thought this was a great idea, and it would probably be a lot more stable than my factory jack when off pavement...
I'm doing the research right now and leaning towards the "Buy once, cry once" approach and getting the Magma. I'm 31 and I have a lot of camp cooking ahead of me.
I just picked up a stove/grill combo, new/never used in a beat up box from my local outdoor gear consignment store. It's certainly not old, but it's an older version of what they make now so it cost less and is probably built better.

What batteries did you go with MG? I just ordered one of those battery boxes off eBay from the same seller. Bought a rusted one at a big discount. Quick sandblast and paint job was probably in the works anyway. I only bought one because I think the automatic electric step that I have would...
Very sad to hear. I was hoping to meet up with him in Baja at some point just to shoot the breeze. I as well as many others certainly appreciate his contributions to this forum and the van community in general. My condolences to family and friends.
Just read all 58 pages. Great design. I'd think you would want to live with it for at least a year before building version 2. Spend all four seasons with it, never know what you might discover. Glad to hear the whole process was bearable enough that you're ready to do it again though.
