    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

If you're talking about the step on the rear tire, that is a HitchMate tire step. It actually slides over the top of the tire with a bar across the back and the step on the front. It does not stay there when you move the vehicle. I got it via Costco website, HitchMate Tire Setp Folds up nice...

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

Well, finished up the front shock install. Drivers side was harder as the frame is not flat in the area to mount the reservoir. Made a spacer for one end of the bracket. Also removing the old shocks was a PITA as the area for the lower mount, the metal compressed some and basically wedged the...

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

Hi Chris. Yes, please post up any info that you can share. I can always use more info as I continue to learn about 2nd Gen Rams and 12 valves. Definitely a different beast than other vehicles I have worked with. Thanks, Mike

Truck with FWC, where to mount a CB antenna?

Funny, I actually thought about the middle of the hood too. My big thing is not just the SWR reading but the range. My basic understanding is CB antenna's work best with a clear 360* view. When objects block this (i.e. camper, buildings, etc.) the range is greatly reduced. I have had great...

Truck with FWC, where to mount a CB antenna?

Yeah, I have been looking at the fender mount they make for my truck but the big factor on why I haven't jump on it yet is that it will be very directional because the camper will be blocking the right rear or at least that's my understanding of how antennas work. I really don't want anything...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

The PETT system (or similar) works great over any liquid system. Easy to dispose of, as trash cans are much more available when traveling then toilets that you can dump a liquid system. We have been using our PETT for camping over the last 4 years. Very happy with it.

For Sale(CA)2 pairs of hella700ff...converted to HID! BRIGHT!

Just an FYI, though there is no hard rule, it tends to be customary to not bump your own ad more than once every 3 days or so. Answering questions if someone post in the thread is fine but 3 bumps today having just placed the ad yesterday is a little extreme. Give it time. People will respond...

    1991 Cummins Suburban

Just reading over the last few things about the temps. 205 is not bad as many vehicles are designed to run at 210 for emission purposes. You're biggest issue is not having a fan shroud. This helps the fan pull air through the radiator versus just spinning air around. Every person I have seen...

    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

Cooler vs. Fridge... that's an easy one after having a fridge. Fridge hands down, without question, period. Outside of a quick trip to the beach or something, I will never use a cooler for traveling again. Anything that requires 1 or more days, not dealing with melting ice, soggy food, water...

Accident and Roll Overs with trailers. Including the other guys fault.

I haven't seen one roll yet but I have seen 3 come REALLY close. In all three cases (which I was behind the trailer) the driver ended up hitting a rock too fast, which bounced the trailer up on that one side. In one case I watched for about 1-2 seconds as the trailer was deciding on whether to...

Hey Bill, I think the OP was looking only for rigs with front and rear leaf springs and how much flex they can get. Us coil up front guys have it easy with flex. LOL :D

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

So I got a little time to get the rear shocks installed. Fronts will take more time so I am waiting until I have a free weekend. Overall the install when well and quick. Getting the reservoir in the correct orientation on the pass. side took a little more time, due to the exhaust that routes...
