    LR3 brake light question

Yeah, its either a bulb or harness issue. What bulb PN did you use?

I meant to write an equation/excel for RTI but I can only do it while making some assumptions about how tucked the wheels would be with the rods installed. If we can assume that you wont get full tuck (can anyone verify) then I can do it and give you at least a theoretical difference. Not that...

    LR3 brake light question

I checked my truck and you're correct, the center (liftgate) and top outer lights come on when braking. Are you 100% your bulbs are correct? Having any brake lights on *should* eliminate the switch as the culprit but nwoods has had an LR3 for longer than me :)

Ha. Well I'm not running a damn hockey puck lift, so there goes that. Bet it'll sell though!

Hey now. Hey hey hey. So ... wait, do 35s really fit? Do we have any details? I want to not like it but I can't un-see it....

    LR3 brake light question

Can you take a picture? I think I understand what you're saying but want to be 100% sure we are thinking of the same thing.

Great post! I also am surprised at how low safety ranks with many people, not just with regards to Defender/offroad driving but even with my other hobbies. You'll often see a $20k motorcycle without an airbag setup or even riding pants or boots, or folks who will spend $10k on...

Driving though Canada to Alaska during the Covid-19 Pandemic

It's especially confusing as there are US plate vehicles which are 100% legal in canada as dual-citizens. Anyway, glad you went and took the Cassiar. I had similar experiences with mosquitos, bears, etc. What I want to make sure everyone understands is that you do not need a 4x4, 35s, a RTT or...

Gear selection is not going to be the primary driver in fuel consumption. You need energy to move the weight, and that energy is fuel rate burn. That will either happen at a higher throttle/boost (and thus fuel flow) per rev in a higher gear or a at lower throtte/boost in a lower gear with revs...

Hey man, I'm gonna order one with the rear locker. There's a reason I haven't had an open rear diff in several vehicles now. You're 100% correct that lockers > TC. But the TC + rear locker is PLENTY for me :) It's a huge upgrade over my Xterra which had the e-diff and no TC. That being said...

LR4 has slightly more cargo space than the Defender. 90.3cuft vs 78.8. Cool, back to senseless bashing/hate!

He's saying the short rear overhang reduced cargo capacity. I agree with him, I've only ever touched the rear bumper while I was crossing Imogene pass. But I sure do use the cargo capacity regularly. If the 130 comes out... it's game over.

"obviously" "zero" in "any" Tell me more about your experience in HR at JLR. You're correct. I run a 265/65 now. It's much much better, along with the truck itself being much better on-road. Bigger is not always better. I now run the smallest tire which will still get me everywhere, and...

How many more miles do I need to do without being stuck, turned around, or getting a flat? 100k? 200k? I get this crap all the time from the local toyota crew. 'I guess you can take your stock truck there, but I'd rather be fully locked on 35"s with rock rails and a 4" lift' Sure, you can do...

65 series tire. Want pics from Moab? SWCO? Montana? WA? OR? Death Valley? You're preaching for excess capability that does nothing except make highway driving needlessly sloppy. And yeah, for real, why are we bashing the artisitic-type folk who work at JLR? Those same folks work at GM, Ford...

Didn't answer the question. When do you need that outside of a 4x4 obstacle course? I had 75 series tires on my old truck and haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaated it. Total overkill, even in alaska.

Yep. 78cuft vs 90 in the Defender vs LR3/4 vs . Exterior dimensions (especially when counting a rear mounted spare) are kinda pointless. Pillar thicknesses are annoying but at least visibility has been excellent in these trucks (older and newer). My BRZ has nearly no rearward visibility but...

OK, where do you need more than a 65 series tire ANYWHERE in america outside of a dedicated 4x4 obstacle course. Nearly 80k miles of touring around the american west so far.... still haven't had a flat despite being told a non-E rated tire would go poof the moment I touched gravel.
