There is a 255/65 Duratrac in 19". Do we really need the extra .5" in height? :) I think LR thought long and hard about what size to ask GY to build them. We are golden. :D

Not sure what clip we're talking about but modern vehicle R&D, supplier qualification and test/cert is all an extremely well controlled process. Not that you'd know that from reading forums. ENGINEERS ARE IDIOTS :p

Got a picture? The rotor diameter seems to be too big to make a 18" possible with a standard wheel due to the dish shape.

You may 'prefer' a heavier tow vehicle, but SAE specs are an accepted standard by engineering experts, not a personal preference. If you put 1k lb extra weight into your tow vehicle, your GCWR drops. Yep, for towing an E tire may be better for your use. I prefer the more compliant ride :)

The weight loss is a big deal to me. The only times I've found the LR3 to be held back in off-road (and on road situations) has been weight. It can certainly go on a diet, which like you pointed out has happened for the entire product line, thankfully. Towing capacity is 8klb on the Defender...

Supposedly, yes. Not sure why folks wanna jump to a 33" tho, 32" is PLENTY. I run a 31.5" and haven't found myself needing more tire and the defender has really good geometries. Bigger tire = bigger clearance, sure. But bigger tire = more weight, worse handling, higher CG, worse...

Does the 33" still allow driving away if you lose a bag/compressor? They look great just never went bigger for that reason.

Lift rods make me sad. :( The only rover I've owned has been my current LR3. It's been absolutely hands down the best truck I've owned. You may disagree with the direction they took or how they're doing their branding. You might even have experience in this space and honestly I don't care...

Looks like Wrangler Adventure w/ Kevlar tire is 255/60/19 = 31.1" which is perfect for an LR4! The WRANGLER ALL-TERRAIN ADVENTURE is the 32.2 tire. Not sure if there's no Kevlar in this tire of if it's a downgrade.

My career has spanned design, test, manufacturing R&D, actual hands-on manufacturing support, and now certification. Where on this chart do you think you are? I've been doing this long enough to know that the folks making these decisions aren't rookies. Let me guess, you know everything!
