Hello, I'm thinking of building a tablet into my dash to run maps and music. My question is charging I'm reading that most USB charging won't keep up with the draw. Should I be using an inverter. Any advice would be great as I'm pretty lost on the subject.
Thanks
I'm going to dig into mine this summer. The sunroof has drains for water the deals are move for noise and dust. Make sure your drains are clear. I cleared mine buy climbing under the car and finding the drain hose and running a piece of coax cable up it. You can download the factory service...
I have a loose wheel bearing and was going to tighten it but looking at fsm it looks like a need special tool to take off the locknut. Do I need it or is it something that can be done without?
Hmmm I see your point. I'm running 31x10.5 right now but had some 255/85r16 tires I loved on my land cruiser and would like to run those on the Montero. I thought fj cruiser wheels would fit and being 17 not that huge of a deal. I saw a great deal on Craigslist and thought I might do it...
It is manual the foam is not so awesome. I took them in thought about getting them recovered and they said the would just reuse the foam but I'm not so sure.
I picked up some seats out of a 94 thinking I was going to put them in my gen 1 . the drivers side is the electric one and I thought it would be fine. I don't want to take that on now and I need my garage space back so if you live near Olympia WA and want some brown leather beat up seats by all...
The $5,000 was just in maintenance to get in decent running condition. I don't expect to get that back. That's what I'm thinking. I hit deer a few weeks ago, and had my window smashed before that I didn't bother to try and claim them. I'm thinking if I total this thing tomorrow I'll get $500 for it.
I hate insurance and get super frustrated trying to understand all the numbers. I'm wondering if you guys are running full coverage or am I crazy. I bought the gen 1 for $1,600 and have put another $5,000 ish into it.
I'm pretty sure it would have...maybe insurance would have totaled it though and we could get out of this recall/ class's action lawsuit thing we are now stuck in.
I just hit a big deer at 30 mph. It made a big sold thunk and the deer slid of to the side of the road . the Montero did well it only broke the plastic grill some and that's it. No major damage at all. I had the wife and 8 month baby in the car and we drove away fine. Not sure things would have...
While getting my tires rotated today we noticed that both hubs on my my rear axle were wet. I guessing at 279,000 miles the rear seals are done. I have some gen 2 trailing arm sitting in the garage that I'm going to have put on along with ome springs and I was wondering if I should find a gen 2...
My mom had 1997 rodeo and she did zero maintenance to that thing except changed the oil every 3,000 ish miles. That thing never stranded us and was a beast in the Michigan winters. I ended up with it when it near its end and loved it. It had a bad head gasket and the salt pretty much ate the...
I came out of work the other day to see my passenger side window smashed and my backpack with my running gear in it gone. Anyway the pick n pull by house has two gen 1s so tomorrow I'm heading out to get a window. What toolsam I going to need. I betting they are electric windows and mine are...
