Looks like you've got your head on straight... slowly going from 'most extreme capability' to 'wildly overbuilt' to 'how much do I really need?' My friends are all going through this process as they age and move from 'tacti-cool' jeeps and toyotas to perfectly capable, stock, comfortable rigs...

It will never be proven. Remember, some people will believe the earth is flat, no matter how much proof is provided.

Don't kid yourself. This truck was literally driven through Namibia by the owner of the website and given a positive review but you still hate it. It's fine, hate all you want but don't pretend you're being objective. Nothing you post is objective. I've stated 1000x times now in these threads...

The Defender comes with 18s stock... not 19s (19s are stock with the P400). And you can get a Locker in the First edition or spec one separately. So don't worry... you can get 18s and a locker in whatever combo you prefer. I just realized I can ignore RED90 by hitting 'ignore' under his screen...

    Give it to me straight

Sounds like the same issue, fuel pump or regulator issue. Fix it and move on. Fuel pump failures can happen on any car. And yes - buy an IID tool.

I'm good with that. Your truck is also really really really far outside of what anyone else is doing with their LR3. You're a big exception and I shoulda stated that. It's been like that ever since people started putting hockey puck lifts on their Jeep/Toyota/etc. If you reduce...

It's not just Americans, it's most everyone. They'll do stupid lifts all day long to run stupid tires and then claim that a stock vehicle can't go anywhere. I still have yet to find anywhere I can't go with my stock LR3 - unless we're talking Golden Spike or worse in Moab.

If you're running 35s at the expense of suspension travel... yea, it does make it wrong unless you're just trying to look cool. From a capability perspective it's always better to have more travel. Morrisdl: I was able to fix the variances via the tool for my truck electronically. And I hope...

2006 LR3 HSE Tie Rod Replacement

Nope, the tight mode will only help once your'e on a laser. You'll do a lot better setting the toe using fishing line and four jacks than counting the threads though. I've aligned vehicles like that for long term as well with no issues (not recommended for your LR3). If this is what you meant...

    New Defender News

Why in the hell would you want to ruin the suspension on a brand new rover? You realize that it takes thousands and thousands of engineering hours of design and testing, etc to create an optimal suspension setup. You can't "upgrade" this by tricking the sensors. You also realize that tire...

2006 LR3 HSE Tie Rod Replacement

I'm sure it'll get you 99% of the places you want to go in the Rockies. I've been down black bear and up Imogene with no issues with my stock LR3. The tie rods are an easy fix, not any different than any other truck. You must enable 'tight tolerance mode' for alignment in your GAP tool, then...

Are you comparing similar age/condition shocks and similar or same tires?

That's really interesting, are the shocks and dampers equal in these conditons?

You're the first I've heard to say that. I was under the impression that the air is better in every way except 'but it'll break down'

I can't remember if you've had an EAS rover, but if not - get one with the air. I can't go back to coils.

Either that or it's got decent mirrors. My BRZ has awful blind spots but I have full 180* coverage between my rear view and aftermarket convex side mirrors.
