84' Mercedes G-wagen turbo diesel, SWB, lifted, 35's, 5spd, Pittsburgh PA.

Not that I am in the market but all these pics and none of the interior. Might help your sale if people saw what the insides look like, same with under the hood. Cool looking rig from the outside!!!

A few project completed on the Cherokee

hahaha... here's a pic, bone stock, no lift, street tires WITH rear sway bar but front one disconnected. BTW, yes I was stuck due to a very bad line picked. :Wow1: I did remove the sway bar when I did the lift but in reality, it wasn't that big of an issue for flex. Front on the other...

A few project completed on the Cherokee

Actually the setup I have does work very well and flexs just fine. Here is a picture before I added the air bags to the rear to help with the changes I did on the trailer, which added some extra tongue weight. The air bags added some stiffness to the rear but completely elimiated the bottoming...

A few project completed on the Cherokee

Well, for the most part, there hasn't been a lot being done outside of regular maintenance but over the couple months I finally got a coupe things done. Still have more to do, namely build my roof rack and then all the projects that come with that. Here are some pics of the couple things I...

Torsion Lift Assist Hinge (For Custom Built Flippac Truck Shell)

My thought would be to use a splined "sway bar" setup like they use on sprint car and other race car applicatons. They offer many rates and splined arms and mounts. I am sure something could be fabbed up, after looking at that above link and seeing what Flip-Pac is doing. Hope that helps some.

    Asymmetrical Roof Rack Idea. Thoughts?

Actually the awning would always be attached. The rack, awning, lights, etc would either be on the Jeep or removed completely (unlikely). BTW, I have a ton of ideas for mounts by either making new pivot brackets or chopping off the "legs" off the AO brackets. Then you can mount it to any flat...

    Asymmetrical Roof Rack Idea. Thoughts?

Thanks for the input. Rack will be steel as I don't have the equipment to weld aluminum. Thanks for the info about width. I really need to setup the awning and get an idea of where it needs to sit and build the width based off of that. Might be 4'3" or some random number. Trying to keep low...

    Asymmetrical Roof Rack Idea. Thoughts?

Hi everyone, So I have been thinking about building my roof rack for a couple years. I keep coming up with new ideas and had finally planned on what I was going to do. That was until I got a great deal on an African Outback 6' awning. My original design was going to be 5'x4'. Now I need to...

    The Grey

Rear head rests were never available in the US. Interesting that Euro spec ones got them but they also got other optional things like hood vents that never came on US spec ones. Nice XJ BTW.

    Help-ZJ front end vibration

How many miles on everything? I remember an old boss of mine had an issue with his GC that the pinion bearing was going out making a humming sound. Didn''t know the ZJ had CV setup, unlike the XJ's.

    Help-ZJ front end vibration

Have you checked the u-joints, either at the hub or the driveshaft. They can tend to those types of noise/feel but can be hard to track down. Driveshaft one is easy, remove it and see if it goes away.

    jk advice needed

I would be really tempted to look at an AEV kit. They make some really nice setups without getting overboard.

    Brute with aluminum tray bed

Sweet rig and I can already see a ton of spaces for really cool trays/cabinets. I remember Chris from Campa using a "tray" system and had a slide out drawer that was over the frame, between the two uprights on the bed shown above. Held a TON of stuff too.

    XJ caster issue

Agreed with adjustable LCA's. I put JKS ones on with my lift. I had found a chart at one time that listed how long the lower arms needed to be based on how much lift. With my 3" lift, it was 1/4" longer. A new RE lift will definitely be higher than the "advertised" lift. You might have to...

    Batteries

Throwing out my opinion, based on facts of how electricity works. First fact, electrons run on the "outside surface" of a strand of wire. More strands, less resistance as you allow a more free flowing path. Take two 4 ga multi strand cables. One your typical auto cable, one your typical...

What winch will fit in a XJ ARB bumper?

No worries. You got a hell of a deal, way better than what I paid for my ARB but still happy none the less. :sombrero:
