Well, all of you innovation haters who said New Defender is too complicated to be reliable, time to take the Bronco off your list too. Been paying attention to this for long time; mostly because of the racing plans they have for the new Bronco-R but because a few months ago I started eyeballing...
I probably started this mess of a tangent so I send my deepest apology to @howirolla for hijacking your thread and all of us getting off on tangents about air/spring wars.
AB was designed as a replacement option from the commercial LR3 variant that came with coils. The little black box (Orange) is the actual purpose built component that does not require the ECU change and flash to an OEM built LR3.
LR3 came with coils from the factory; AB didn't crush innovation...
You must have missed the 20 other posts where I speak of the reason I have not gone to coils yet; how and why I feel air is better in some instances and coils in others but I surely have never said to any degree that one is wholeheartedly better than the other. My train of thought follows the...
Im in SoCal man; the MotoBro and MotoHoe Capital of the planet. Half these dudes traded in the dirt-bike they bought and put in the back of there truck as an ornament for a rack and RTT. Permanent fixtures of Glamping Glory now.
Is what it is but there is a lot of positive innovation on these...
Where do I start on this BS?
1) 4.4 is an extremely reliable engine; the numbers and data are out there to prove it. Blaming a coolant issue on a spring clamp is hilarious actually because I'd bet my left nut that at 115K your hoses were probably still OG. Of course if you were following the...
127k on my LR3; bought as the second owner around 63k. Maintained per the LR3 service interval suggestion and zero problems outside of the Camry I ran over. I'd be more than happy to be added to your list of sources to ask about a properly maintained LR3 and what it will get you in...
13 years of SP stainless and titanium should be worth a good chunk of change.......lol. Some things are better bought once; buy once, cry once, enjoy forever!
There are about 4 or 5 guys on this exact forum that are doing some great things with the D5; you're telling my Lucky8 is just tinkering with what they did with D5 and what they will do with D110. SVO: niche market......sales and marketing 101 man......
Funny how anytime its a LR test or promo...
No doubt they have failures but generally well past their life just as any other spring/strut. If you think coils don't loose integrity over their life you are delusional! Do bags fail, rarely but we have all seen coil failures from shock coil lip failures and coil springs sag and no longer...
Because I have a bit more time on my side these days, I decided to do a little Defender 110 Configurations. Many of you may know I am considering the Petrol 2.0 4cyl due to the $12k cost of the Petrol 6cyl and almost no hope the TD6 coming to the NAS market.
Keeping in mine, I am gambling that...
@Ray_G don't want to take over your thread here on my experiments but I'm gonna blame you for asking the question.....lol
1) I plan to run a Battleborn 110ah lithium as the house battery and therefore "in cabin concerns" outside of space are virtually eliminated. Not that I can't use the...
Insert broken record (that's the level of technology) comments by @EricTyrrell here!
Meanwhile; productive conversation inserted below:
@howirolla what's the years/hours/mileage/usage type on those bags; general estimate?
@Ray_G that for sure is a great selling point; especially considering it is sitting in my garage paid for already.....??
My point was similar to you in which completely isolate start and house power or maybe just go with a manual switch.
The real point is that I am considering going with a...
Check Lucky8 Proud Rhino Spacers; I am not sure on the size of the spacers but I think they are close to 2" and there are lots of threads on here related to their installation, questions, and concerns.
@DiscoNels that's good info and great for publishing. I am considering selling my Traxide since it is not installed yet and going another route; the system looks awesome but I think there are potentially better use options out there that I may go with.
