Stoked to see the first couple responses related to training, training on equipment, vehicle, and medical. Not saying everyone can afford it or should do it but a proper and professional recovery training course will teach you everything you need to know about the actual "tools" that will go...
I've seen some manufacturing and testing stuff on kinetics that will scare the ******** out of you and I've seen a kinetic failure in my Mil Days which was violent.
TRE makes good kit and I carry a Bubba but only because I bought the Bubba before I properly researched TRE; either of these sources...
@Chris Boyd love the tailgate cutting board set up; did you build it or is one made for your vehicle? I am planning to make one and have the HDPE sheet in the garage that I am been meaning to get to. I am now thinking of just making the tailgate one out of Starboard and running a table...
Thats the plan; LHD side first. Depending on this first mock-up goes, the access might be from the outside and inside. Weather sealing on the gull-wing door is going to be the biggest challenge. Gotta finish the slider first and then work my way to the overhead storage tray.
Sorry guys, I'm a bit backed up on my modifications list due to COVID and access to various things. I'm working my slider storage completion and then I am starting on this and then moving to commercial panels with gull-wing access for the 3rd row windows.
I'll keep you posted.
Here's my 85% solution; the sleeping platform is done with fridge installation where the center seat was. Driver's side second row seat is folded down and I have a storage door installed in that area. Passenger side is getting the fresh water tank, gray water tank for hot water heater/showers...
Great advice........I like it. Yeah would be a bad idea to just go with a tight loop carpet back too and then use the industrial hook on the pouches cuz we know that sticks to anything like that.
Molle is nice to hook up with ease but nothing quick about disconnect; velcro is fast and easy all...
Sold my cover set but still have a WeatherTech Cargo Mat available if anyone needs it; great piece of kit so PM me if interested. I do not need it cuz, well, I do not have carpet or an interior back there anymore so it would be nice to send off to a forum member to a good home for a great...
Thanks @TOUGE; thinking about ordering two of each (Wolf/Cub) from Amazon and worst case I can free return if needed to get the full compliment on the ones I need for the entire build. I would not be stacking other than in the garage; the vehicle configuration would surely be side by side with...
@Ray_G awesome man......thanks so much.
Have you considered a wired in DC/DC charger for charging on the go or do you just rely on the NOCO for shore-power needs?
Read this the other day which provides more justification on the success of the smaller Ford engines.........Oh and it's nice to see that "Return to Baja" on the Bronco too; really hope to see LR build a race spec or run DAKAR in some version.
Potential Bronco Powerplants
All of those are great topics of discussion; glad I was not the only one to feel the visibility sucked in the Taco and had to open the doors to see if I was actually buried to the frame. Driving around the dunes up/down was not a fun experience although the traction control was quite nice.
I...
Be careful when you use the hacksaw blade to cut the old filter neck from the stock filter; you don't want to scratch the valve body plate so go slow with a new blade and you will be through the filter neck in about a minute. I also disconnected my exhaust at the front near the O2 sensors and I...
I did drive a 2015 Taco in the dunes and I'll be honest, the traction control is quite nice and I'm honestly not sure how the hell they got it stuck cuz I have to actually force the one I drove into the frame rails so we could do sand recovery drills with it.
Joking or not, all in good fun...
@TOUGE anything helps. Per the dimensions no the FR site, are the outside dimensions pretty close to advertised; sometimes dimensions are all over the place on where they measure a case. On that note, knowing the dimensions are exact to advertised, I can then make an assessment on which boxes...
Concur on sweating out the first change to modified 2-piece pan. It's a ********** to do but damn is it worth it for the next time. Suggest the same as the rest and if you have time, find the Fomoto drain to put in your engine oil pan at the same time cuz you may as well do the engine oil too.....lol
@TOUGE thanks for the info as well; I too feel I want as squared off and flat as possible. Feel free to post any further comments on my build thread below as I don't want to hijack @Ray_G thread on boxes.
@REDROVER Meanwhile in the archives of "******** that actually happened".
Notice the Raptor loads up the rope and the torque converter in the beginning and on "GO" it doesn't even matter. And then you see the Rangie apply the brakes at the end of the first pull and is off the brakes and the...
